Delay order at POS for orders placed in house

Scenario - Customer comes into restaurant "Can I please get food for 3 hours from now?"

 

Currently we process the order and it immediately comes up in the kitchen. We have to look at this order for 3 hours on our KDS screens.

 

When placing an order at POS you should be able to select a time to send the order to the kitchen

We need an option to delay orders from the KDS as the option doesn't exist on the Square terminal at pos for orders placed in house.

 

Scenario - Customer comes in to the restaurant and says "Can I order food for 2 hours from now?"

 

We take payment and the order goes to the KDS screens. We now need to look at this order for 2 hours.

 

Solution - On KDS we should be able to long press an order maybe? or there should be a ... menu on each order that we can access and set a "Ready" time or a "delay order" timer.

Your feedback and insight on this feature request are greatly appreciated. While this feature isn’t currently available on our platform, I can see how it would be a valuable addition to your business.

 

As a temporary workaround, you could consider setting up coursing for checks. Coursing helps manage the flow of orders for both the front and back of house by grouping items, adding new ones, and signaling the kitchen when to hold or fire dishes. Although it doesn’t automate firing, it could serve as a temporary solution.

We are a fast/Counter service restaurant, I'm not sure course firing is something that can be set up for us or to be honest that we would be able to use. This is something that we want to do once or twice a day, I'm not really sure it hits the target of our needs.

I would also like to request this feature. We have a wellness center with a cafe attached to it. It would be nice if before someone goes into a service we could schedule a drink (for example) to be ready for them by the time they are finished with their service.
