Coupon Codes for Online Appointment Booking

Customers should be able to enter coupon codes when they book appointments online. This would allow me to incentivise people who participate in our group activities to book their private lessons and parties on the square site at a discount.
It gives a reason for people to book and they need to be able to see that coupon or discount immediately without having to call in and book the appointment.
The point of having online booking is to automate the process! So it is necessary that we are able to send coupons to our mass mailing list of participants that they can immediately apply to their bookings!!

Hey @CBDH Its super frustrating that Square hasn't done this already. Its been requested for over 7 years.  Here are few workarounds that might help you.

- Some sellers tell customers to put the coupon code in the message area and apply it at checkout in person. Its not ideal and defeats the person of an automated system. You could pair it with a credit hold/no-show policy if you are worried about no shows

- You can have people book with a credit hold/no-show policy and then send them a payment link. You can customize the payment link to accept coupons. I'm not sure that the payment link will link back to the booking though

- You can move to Acuity which is available in the Square App Marketplace. Its purpose built for this and you can embed their booking flow into your Square online website. Square will still handle the payments but the booking experience will be handled by Acuity and you will be able to have customers apply coupons at checkout.

- You can move off Square entirely and sign up for a service that is purpose built for service businesses. A quick search will reveal plenty.

- Sell appointment slots as regular items in Square online(kinda crazy but it would work). You would create catalog items and each variation would be a time slot with an inventory of 1. For example, Monday 11/17 would be the item, 9AM would be the variation and it would have an inventory of 1.  Customers would be able to checkout with coupons and giftcards, etc. Now you could then make the booking manually after the slot is sold so the customer gets the appointment reminders and things like that. You would also want to make sure to archive or remove slots in the past so someone doesn't accidentally book a slot in the past. All of this could be automated with Square's APIs too, so it may not be that bad

Good Luck
