Comissions on Invoices

I found a thread on this subject, but it was marked as read-only and I could not add my input.  And there was no link to an existing feature request.  If this is a duplicate, I apologize.

 

I use Invoices extensively and would like to be able to assign a team member (salesperson) to individual invoices and assign/track commissions.  We send around 1,000 recurring invoices each month and I would like to use commission salespeople to continue to grow the business.

Hi @ItsOverJonny, that’s an excellent feature request. We appreciate you sharing your business use case and why it would be valuable for you. If you know of any fellow Seller Community members who would like to see this built out as well, feel free to tag them in your post so they can share their thoughts as well! The more sellers chime into the request, the more likely it is to catch our product team's eye.

We are a brewery with a taproom location, and we also sell wholesale to restaurants/bars/stores. We would like to be able to have our sales staff, who manage wholesale accounts, to be able to track and receive commissions from Square Invoices, but exclude our taproom staff from commission tracking entirely because their compensation is based on hourly/tips, not commission.

 

It's made slightly more complicated because our sales team will also pick up taproom shifts too, so it wouldn't be possible to just apply commission to certain team members the way the current commission structure works. We would need to be able to apply commission to invoiced sales, or wholesale, etc.

Currently I am using the service charge button that is down with the subtotal and taxes. I just name it %5 Admin Fee and it adds it for me automatically.

But i have to keep a separate spread sheet to track the salesperson. 

Yea, seriously. Why is this not a feature? I feel like this is really the only way you would really need to use commission. Outside sales reps who work on commission don't take payment from a point of sale.... I feel like it would be an incredibly easy feature to just add a tab in the invoice section to show who to give commission to for the sale.

Though it's only me and my catering manager doing all the sales, we have so many all the names just run together in my head and forget whose client is whose lol.
