Class arrive

Class arrive

Would it be possible to add a feature for classes in appointments for people to scan a QR code when they arrive, or to receive a SMS to confirm their arrival to classes?

Or at least the ability to mark them in manually when they arrive would be great!

I have classes of around 18 people, and it would help to manage who is there.

Hi Square Team,

As @Katie_SQ suggested,
I am adding my support to this request - the ability to track attendance for class-type appointments would be extremely valuable.

Right now, there’s no built-in way to check in individual attendees, whether by QR code, SMS confirmation, or even a simple manual “arrived” toggle. For regular appointments we have “Mark as complete,” but group classes don’t have an equivalent per-attendee action.

For studios and group-based businesses (fitness, yoga, wellness), this makes class management harder than it needs to be. Being able to:

  • Manually mark each participant as arrived
  • Or let them self-check-in via QR code/SMS

…would streamline operations, reduce staff workload, and provide accurate attendance records.

This feature would be a major improvement for any business running group classes through Square Appointments.

Thank you for considering it!

Sincerely,

Hello--

Adding my request in. I 've been using appointments plus for 4.5 years and have been hoping this feature is added. I want to book classes but since square doesn't track attendance in them like it does appointments, I have to go in and individually add clients as separate appointments. This would save me time as well as provide a backup way to track people and keep up with their packages. It would also be great to be able to track their packages on my end and for clients to see what they have remaining on their account. I offer private and small group lessons and this is a feature that is becoming more and more important for me to continue using square.

thank you,
