Book multiple participants to the same class & allow selling of class seats during check-out

I run a business that offers only one bookable service for customers to attend. We host multiple repeating sessions per day and allow for up to 15 participants per session. 

 

Currently, using the class feature within Square Appointments allows participants to book online and allows me to manually add a participant in person via the Calendar tab within Square for Appointments on my Square Register. However, people booking online cannot reservice multiple seats in one booking. Moreover, I cannot add more than one participant at a time manually on the Square Register. This has caused Square Appointments to be unusable for me, leaving me to resort to third party options, rather than paying for Square for Appointments Plus.

 

Feature requests:

 

1) Add a mechanism for customers to book and pay for multiple seats in a class online in a single transaction

 

2) Add a mechanism for me to add multiple attendees to a class manually via the Calendar tab of Square for Appointments on my Square Register.

 

3) Add a way to add participants to a class and check out other items at once on the square register ~ e.g. add two participants to a class and sell them an item on the same transaction.

 

Until these features are implemented, I unfortunately will not be able to utilize Square for Appointments for my business.

It's been two years. This capability is long overdue - I have to switch platforms because of this!

I agree. I have students who want to take the same class for my Mahjong business on multiple dates, but they have to make 5 transactions to book for each separate date. This is ridiculous and makes it difficult for me to do business with. This has got to be an easy fix on Square’s end. Please make this change otherwise I’m going to have to switch to another system, as it’s severely limiting my class based business.

I actually use occasion app which still integrates with square for payments. No subscription fees they charge 2% on top of square fees

It's truly disappointing to see our clients can't book multiple spaces in a class. Many hours and lots of money setting it all up for long requested features to be completely ignored. Seems we will also end up having to change system.

Any updates on this?

I am still waiting for an update on this. My clients are still unable to book more than one class at a time, when they are regularly booking between 2 to 10 classes, and they are unable to book somebody else in the class with them. can anyone from Square please provide an update? Even an estimated timeframe would be helpful. Thank you! @kristen 

We switched to using Occassion for classes because Square still can't handle people booking multiple spots. 

Another annoyed square customer adding their voice here. Every time I go to use a new service from Square, there's some ridiculous oversight that makes that service unusable for us. I've just spent a whole afternoon setting up appointments to find that even for classes, people can't book more than one space in a single payment. Who on earth designs these things? Surely it's obvious that people might want to book more than one space? 

 

We were willing to pay for plus but instead we'll have to go somewhere that has basic functionality for our customers. The appointments add-on is utterly useless to us.

 

If anyone at square is interested, our use case is very similar to the OP's. We need our website customers to be able to book an APPOINTMENT for MORE THAN ONE PERSON in a single transaction, add that to their basket, then add other appointments and standard items too. We're a florist and were hoping to offer an all-in-one wedding flower ordering and workshop booking, but nope, the square designers strike again!
