Add a Customization Suite for Barcode Label Creation

As it is, as far as I can find, you can add or remove very rudimentary information on printed barcodes that are largely decided by the size of the labels you are printing.

A customization tool to have greater control over what our barcodes look like would be amazing. Some locations might need to focus more on nomenclature, while others may need the price to really pull through.

In my opinion, the default layout of the barcodes is unattractive, and I would very much like to change it without having to export data, pay for an expensive application from my barcode printer manufacturer, and print using a third party. Most of my employees are older and less tech-savvy, so it unfortunately isn't a viable option for me, personally. I know that Square intends to be a one-stop-shop for handling our businesses, and I think this is an area that Square is sorely lacking, and could be remedied without very much resource allocation.

We are also paying for a third party label printer and would love to print straight from Square. It's "Square for Retail". Doesn't Square understand how important it is for retail stores to be able to print custom price tags??

I would add my vote to having custom labels. First, the labels I currently use do not format properly when generated via Square for Retail (the margins are off compared to the label manufacturer's settings), so having custom labels would allow me to fix the problem myself. Second, I would love to be able to add logo and other info to the product tag, and this would also allow me to generate shelf tags with SKU barcodes (as well as other info which may be different from the product tag) which I must do currently using 3rd party software.

I'd like to add my vote for this feature as well. I've also submitted my own feature request for custom label printing a few weeks ago as well. This feature would be so helpful and necessary for our needs.

agreed, I quite often have to go out and change a label in a third party software because I need an extra line of text on the label or the layout doesnt work for what I need on that product .(IE: the variation name needs to be more pronounced or similar)

Just chiming in to say it would be incredibly helpful to be able to add the store name and logo to the barcode labels. And I'd also suggest the ability to increase the size of the text of some font, like the price.

Completely understand your business need for being able to customized your labels. This has been a feature request for a while from our sellers too.

Chiming in with my request for customizing the labels. At the very minimum we need to be able to add a logo, but agree with everyone here about the things we should be able to do with these labels. If our return customer comes in to purchase something it’s not so important that our logo is on the label but if we get someone who’s just passing by, visiting from elsewhere or the item is given as a gift, the need for a logo increases tremendously. We do use tags with our business info but only if the wholesale company hasn’t already provided a tag (to reduce waste & to save money) or if the product is too small to utilize our tags.

Chiming in also here, we would love to be able to customize our labels as well. we are having to print labels that include company names we get our products from, contact numbers, and Contains (big 9 Allergens) at this time I have to print 3 different labels to get this to work which is such a hassle and forces us to use 3x the labels than we should.

I agree that is a feature that would be awesome to have!

I talked with someone the other day at square while giving my feedback for their purchase order feature and they told me it is something they are working on.
