Add Ons for Appointments

Hello there,

Is there any chance of an option to use add ons for appointments being in the works? For instance, the customer selects the service on the first part of the form, then goes to add ons for that service before the customer info form.

The current possible work around for this is to have 10s and 10s of drop down options with various combinations of add ons, which is not only tedious to set up, but a bad and confusing UX for the customer.

It's not only a chance to upsell for us, but will inflate the transaction amount to increase Square's revenue, and it would undoubtedly steal users away from a competitor (I won't name them so this doesn't appear as an advert) which only has paid options, but offers this feature.

Square is better than them in every way, but it's really hard to justify using it when it's missing this feature which would leave too much money on the table.

I saw a post on here from 2019 where there were several posts saying this was being looked at or in development, but can't find anything on the topic so here I am.

Hello -

I'm working on my new site, and I've created a couple Services and a Modifier I'd like to use.

However, when I select the chosen Service through the booking system, the modifier is never given as an option to select.

Has anyone else experienced this or know a solution?

I have made sure that the Services have the modifier

Thanks for your post, @trose86!

Currently, service modifiers cannot be applied by customers who book online. I’ve gone ahead and moved your post to an existing thread where we are currently tracking this Feature Request. As soon as we have an update from our Product Team, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Right now, service modifiers can be used in the following ways:

  • Appointments App - Add to Existing Bookings: You can add service modifiers to an existing booking by editing the appointment from the Calendar section of the Appointments app.
  • Appointments App - Create New Bookings: You can add service modifiers when creating a booking directly from the Calendar section of the Appointments app.

In the meantime, if you'd like to offer different bookable options for clients using the Appointments online booking flow, you may want to set up variations instead.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help here, but please let me know if you have any other questions!

This response was already used back in 2022. Can you please tell us if they are actually looking into this feature or not. Has it been brought to the attention to the correct people are these responses sent just to say you responded?!

SO many subscribers have voiced their needs to grow their business. Why is this issue taking so long?

Please give us this option soon

Hello! I own a wellness studio with 7 different wellness sessions. You can 'stack' some sessions together and I want to give my clients the option to 'add-on' during the booking process. For example, if they book a Compression Session, I want to offer an 'add-on' of a NanoVi or NuCalm session. These themselves are standalone sessions but I'm thinking it might increase sales if they are prompted to book something additional at checkout. Is this something that is possible with Square's current capabilities? Is there a way for them to see other available options so they can select multiple sessions?

I am an Esthetician and do facials- need ability to have add ons for the main facial such as extractions or a chemical peel that the client can choose while booking online. This is a must!!

Yes I own a spa and this is such an old request, like most, that they refuse to listen to.

Please add this feature. As a hairstylist clients wants to add trims, buy hair, and add certain add ons to service's. I have the add on options as services to book but that only adds more time to the appointment and that isn’t always necessary and it can be a little confusing to the client. Also when clients book mutiple services I would like the email to say their total price before they come in

My business needs this as well
