Hi there,
I'm trying to understand how many unique customers I have on each community (location) I serve with my coffee truck.
I understand that I can go to Customer>Directory and filter by location but that number seems low.
For example:
1- Customer Directory > Directory > Filter by location = 148 customers
However if I go to Customer Directory > Insights > Visits > 716. I understands that this number is total orders.
If I filter by Returning = 356 which should give me the total number of returning people who has order more than once?
If I filter by New = 360
How many unique customers I do really have?
Great question, @JuanSanchez1!
Let me clarify the different customer metrics you're seeing:
For the 148 customers showing under Customer Directory > Directory > Filter by location, these are unique customers stored in your Directory who have made at least one purchase at that specific location. (Note that these customers may have also purchased at other locations, but they must have made at least one purchase at the filtered location to appear in this count.)
The 716 visits you see under Customer Directory > Insights > Visits represents the total number of transactions made by all customers during the selected time period. This is not a count of unique customers, but rather unique purchases during that timefrrame. For example, if one customer made 10 purchases during this period, they would account for 10 of these 716 visits.
This explains why when you break down the 716 visits into Returning (356) and New (360), they add up to your total visits (356 + 360 = 716):
If you're looking for the most accurate figure to show how many unique customers in your Directory have purchased at least once from this location, I recommend using the figure under Customer Directory > Directory > Filter by location (148), as this best captures the actual number of unique customers for that location.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks Katie.
Now, today I made 29 purchases of which 7 were new. However I only see 151 unique customers in that location instead of 148 + 7 = 155
It's not very accurate, right?
