Square Text Message Marketing

I recently received an email about this. I asked a question but I'm not seeing (or don't know where to look for) a reply.  My question is do I automatically get contact info from my customers when they pay wirh Squats? What if they don't ask for a text or email receipt? And how about my customers who pay cash?

I also kind of feel like I'm invading (spamming?) my customers (?)  I guess it says something about them opt-ing in for getting the texts. Where and how is those done?

Thank you

Hi Tina54321,

Square makes it easy to add customers to each transaction. You can ask the customer if he / she would like a receipt then you can click the more button - click customers- type the customers complete name at the top search icon- then a page will drop down where you can add the customers information then click save- then at the top there are 3 dots( ••• ) - you can click these fors to add new sale with the customer. It's advisable to also make sure the customers ID matches their credit card, you can also save the customers card on file for future transactions as well as their ID under their customer profile ( files).

Try doing 1 marketing campaign a week or month.  That's not spam. Plus, it's impossible to spam a current customer unless you are over sending emails and text weekly.

Email or text receipt- you or the cashier may click to opt out of the receipt if the customers chooses not to receive one. Either way the transaction will save to their square account if you have added them.
