Square Marketing campaign email's web URL and image card/thumbnail

When using the Facebook integration with Square Marketing emails, the auto-generated post includes a URL where the email is available to see on the web, like this.

Is there no other way to access this URL/web version of the email??

FB has been deleting these auto-posts for some reason, but it's useful to have a web version of our emails to share on social media, but I can no longer get a URL if I don't remember to save it before FB deletes a post. 😕

Additionally, why is it impossible to change which image the Facebook auto-post uses in the thumbnail? It's never the first image included in the campaign. We have been promoting our Bluesky in our emails with a screenshot of our Bluesky profile, which we think is triggering FB deleting the posts as "spam."

That's definitely frustrating—I’ve run into similar challenges with Square Marketing’s Facebook integration. Right now, Square doesn't give an easy way to directly access or copy the URL of the web version of your marketing emails unless you grab it from the auto-generated Facebook post before it's removed. It’s something Square could certainly improve.

As a workaround, here's what you can do:

  1. Manually Share via Email Preview:

    • Send yourself a test version of the marketing email.
    • Use your browser's “view in browser” link from that test email, and then copy and share that URL on social media directly.
  2. Thumbnail/Image Issue:

    • Unfortunately, Square Marketing doesn’t currently allow you to customize the thumbnail or image Facebook picks up automatically. Facebook’s scraper selects images based on their own criteria, which isn't always logical.
    • To fix this, you might consider manually posting the email link (from the test version above), and then upload your preferred image directly to Facebook rather than letting it auto-select.
  3. Preventing Facebook’s Spam Detection:

    • You’re likely right that Facebook sees certain screenshots (like your Bluesky profile) as spam or promotional.
    • Consider using original images, branded graphics, or non-screenshot content to reduce the likelihood of triggering Facebook’s spam filters.

Lastly, I’d highly recommend submitting this as a feature request to Square. Having a direct, permanent web URL for emails and control over social thumbnails would be hugely helpful features.

Hope this helps—and let us know if you find another workaround 🙂

This is related to the question I just posted. Has Square considered this feature request?

Thank you for checking in on this, @yotopiafroyo. Unfortunately it does not look like this feature has been implemented yet.

If our product managers are able to implement changes, it takes a bit of time for feature requests to be implemented. So hopefully at some point soon this can be included.
