Thank you, thank you, thank you, Square! We now have the ability to see the recently searched and the recently viewed! This is absolutely amazing and one of the features that we've been hoping for and asking for for quite some time. 

 

So very much appreciated!

When a customer calls and asks a question about the status of their order and their record and then we pull them up in the system. And then later we need to reference them back but we can't remember their details, this ability to see a history of the recently searched and the recently viewed makes all the difference in the world. 🦋

I am just wondering why after the search Field is Blank like in the Picture by @BofBArtStudio, Is Square still having the Keyboard appear blocking the actual Cart.  After Tapping the Return to search or the X to clear the search box, the search results and Keyboard are still in the way from continuing.  I was going to do a screen shot how the search field at the cart was empty but the results and Keyboard are blocking a large part of the screen.  I was not sure if the Keyboard was a Square or IOS update.  But when I type in to search for X item, then choose Tap the Variation for said Item, the Add to Cart button is blocked by the keyboard.  Which is hidden under the .?123 button in the image that @BofBArtStudio originally posted.   Now after trial and error I realize you can tap the Keyboard Icon to close the Keyboard, but why not have it close after tapping the items Variation so you can see how many of that variation to add to the cart and to tap ADD to CART?  

 

Now the original post is for search a Customers order but this may have messed up the quick ability to search and add items at the POS cart check out.

I see what you mean! And I just tested it out and I've tried to add an item that I searched for that has variations and I cannot add it to the cart unless I press the button at the bottom that makes the keyboard go away. 

 

I agree that it would be nice if the keyboard would go away on its own once a selection has been made.

The other problem seems to be, and I'm not sure if it's related to this new search or not, but when I scan items now I can't just scan scan scan. I scan one and it pops up and wants me to press the add to cart button and then I scan another one and it pops up and wants me to press the add to cart button.

 

And then there's another problem where when I search for a customer and they're a new customer that's never been in our system before and I create a new customer record, it no longer lets me add them to the cart until I clear my search and search for them again. 

 

So maybe the powers that be at Square can look into those couple of things.

i thought the Pop up to tap an item was because of duplicate barcodes.  Thanks to squares Discounts, I have the same item in my system under the item as a Variation and then again as an Item in a category.  This way any item in the category would get the discount but the items that list all my variations under the scent are under Category Our Candles or something.  Because if the item is not one of our candles and is another item I can scan it and do not have to tap.  This is why I always worry about Updates from Square, something works but more is broken.
