Customer Directory

Hi-

I've been using the directory for a long time and it seems like the management has not improved.

Exporting and importing my list caused me to lose a ton of data and all my tags were jumbled.

Without exporting the list what's the best way to merge customers, delete bounced email addresses or people that haven't been active in 6 months or more?

Scrolling through and clicking on each guest is too time consuming.

Thanks!

Hi there!

I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with data loss and organization issues after exporting and importing your customer list. It’s crucial to maintain accurate records, especially when managing a customer database effectively.

While it can be time-consuming to scroll through each entry, here are a few suggestions to help you manage your customer directory more efficiently:

  1. Use Filters and Search Functions:

    • Take advantage of any filtering or search features within the directory. This can help you quickly locate inactive customers or those with bounced email addresses without manually scrolling through the entire list.
  2. Regular Maintenance:

    • Set a regular schedule (e.g., every few months) to review and clean up your list. This way, it becomes a manageable task rather than a daunting one when it piles up.
  3. Bulk Actions:

    • Check if the platform offers any bulk action features. Some systems allow you to select multiple entries at once for actions like merging or deleting, which can save you time.
  4. Utilize Tags Strategically:

    • If you’re able to tag customers as you go, consider creating specific tags for inactive clients or those with bounced emails. This will make it easier to sort and manage them later.
  5. Contact Support:

    • If you continue to experience issues, reaching out to Square’s support team for assistance with your directory management might help. They could offer additional tips or even take your feedback into consideration for future improvements.

I hope these suggestions help streamline your customer management process! If you have any further questions or need more assistance, feel free to ask.
