[New] Create and Sell Bundles for Retail

Hi sellers! 👋

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added the ability for Square for Retail Plus sellers to create and manage bundles in Square Dashboard! This feature allows you to combine multiple components into one item bundle and sell those items together while still having the ability to track inventory of the individual components. This is great for all types of retail sellers that want to create gift sets, product sets and can even be used with Square Subscriptions.

This update can help you:

• Better track inventory of individual components regardless of how you sell the items
• Increase sales and AOV by cross-selling and upselling of similar products to your customers
• Create promotional products around special events and holidays 

Where can I create product bundles?

• Bundle creation can be accessed when creating a new item in your Square Catalog
• A new option will be listed called “Sell as a bundle”

Who can access product bundles?

• This feature is available in all regions and will only appear for Square for Retail Plus sellers. We’ll also be adding this feature for Square Online Plus sellers sometime later in August.
• If you're a Square for Retail Plus subscriber and this feature isn't showing up for you, check back again early next week (7/31) as it will be fully available to everyone then

Oh okay... so its not for Square Online Plus Members... the original post said it was going to be rolling out for those who are subscribed to Online Plus. Just read at the link you sent that its only for Square Retail Plus... that kinda bites... I wonder if they're going to roll it out for who they initially mentioned. I can't justify paying for Square Retail when we would only be doing so for the bundles feature.. it would be super nice to be able to sell in dozens or mix and match items that pull from the same inventory pool for a slight price break to incentivize larger orders... otherwise its just not possible... bummer..

Yeah that's pretty frustrating... I would hope that this is "in the works" for restaurants or square online plus subscribers... It's just not feasible to have two stacked subscriptions for one feature... that one feature would really help tho... fingers crossed!

It's been "in the works" for years....we're seriously considering moving to another POS because Square refuses to add a feature that is a basic necessity for inventory control and just about every other POS out there offers this feature

I JUST saw this Beta Test for Combos for Restaurants.  Here is the Link :

You may also find the Beta test signup in the Beta Testing group.  So Square is working on it ..... a little slow but still working on Combos now.

Thanks CandleStore for pointing this out.  Looks like the beta has been in the works for 2+ years and the feature still isn't available.  Also, beta isn't available for uses of Square online, so it won't help me.

I need this to be available for square restaurants so that I can add cocktails to the menu and still have the sales reduce the available inventory.  I am just about to open a bar and this is a dealbreaker, I will have to switch to another POS without this.

This is a great step in the right direction, But why are options not available? Being able to add size or colour or other alternates seems to be an important and overlooked feature. Are there plans to add this shortly?

Adding option sets to a bundle would still be a feature request at this stage. While I don't have a timeline to share about the release of this feature, I'd suggest filing a request on our Ideate page, which is monitored by our Product team. 

We'll let you know if it becomes available for Square for Retail.

We have just started offering gift sets using the bundle feature. It is absolutely fantastic. I love that Pricing Help shows you the total cost of the bundle, the total retail price of the bundle, and then you can set the price that you want to sell the bundle. 

We sell "products with purpose" and having the ability to create a curated gift set helps us differentiate ourselves from the competition.

Hi was waiting on this bc we sell gift baskets. One of the items has 9 flavor variations. Instead of allowing the customer to select their variation, we have to make 9 separate gift baskets bc gift baskets require us to pick the variation of flavor for the gift basket. Is this being reviewed or worked on so that customers can select their variation/flavor/color and so forth where variations are available so that we aren't required to make 9 diff gift baskets when it is really one basket with various flavor options for one of the items?  Thanks for any updates on this!

I love it! But you took modifiers away from bundles. That killed my excitement unfortunately.

I see your using Modifiers and wrote 2 articles complaining about them.

• Not being allowed in Bundles
• Tracking Inventory
• You can export Variations in your Square Catalog also

What would happen if you used Variations instead of Modifiers?  is that possible.

Variations can be tracked and can be added to Bundles.

If you repeatedly use the same variations like types of plants for example, you could create an Option set which can create all your variations for an Item.

Say you sell 4" potted plants, currently all 4" potted plants are the same price $X.XX

So you use modifiers for ppl choose red, Yellow, Purple for example.

Create an Option set called Colored Plants.  Have the colors as Re, Yellow and Purple.

Create an Item 4" potted Plants and apply Colored Plants Option set, this would create Item 4" potted plants with 3 Variations.  Each Variation can have a SKU and a GTIN, can Have a Qty and individual prices or the same price.

I use this when I come out with a New scent for my candles.  I have about 18 Variations in one Option set.  Create new Scented candle apply the Scent Option and then adjust price for each Option by size, and have Square create a SKU for each Variation to print Barcodes for each if I want.
