Two square POS each with their own printer BUT can each POS print to each printer?

Sorry if this has been done a bazillion times.

Two POS units (the nice square ones) connected to the STAR printers via their USB hub thing.

I want one printer by the coffee machine for drinks orders and the other to print receipts.

Now can both POS units print to BOTH printers as they're connected via their HUBs & USB or do I need to connect both printers to ONE hub or buy different printers or something?

Thanks!

8 days until opening!!!!

Hey @Cherans_Bakery - 8 days! Exciting times 👍🏻

A USB printer can only print from the device it's connected to. It could be worth trying to swap them for ethernet versions so they connect to your network & are then visible to all devices. You can then set up multiple printer stations on each device & choose what prints where.

NB. this does mean you'd need to run a network cable to each printer from your router or have one of the two wifi printers compatible with square. (personally the Epson one always worked for me).

Oh s**t.   So even though they’re all on same network (the POS) they won’t print.  I thought they were network printers but it’s a connector for the till

Well, a slight re-jig resulted in a superb opening day - so HUGE thank you to square!

My next question related to printing;

is it possible to print instructions on the order tickets that the customer doesn't see?

Ie, Cheran's Ice cream - Two waffles, one flake, three sprinkles , a unicorn horn and some gold glitter and don't forget to smile!
