create and issue e-gift cards from back office

i'd love to be able to create, and email, e-gift cards from the back office in squareup.com. i have 4 brick-and-mortar restaurants all running on square restaurants hardware. but i work from my office many days.

if i get an email from an upset customer, i like to send e-gift cards as a gesture of goodwill. i also sometimes provide e-gift cards as a donation item.

i would love to be able to do that when i'm log into squareup.com, rather than having to remember to do it next time i'm at a store. (ideally it would be location-specific like invoices are.) it could be "paid for" with a 100% discount, which is what i do at the stores currently when i need to issue a "free" gift card.

Hi there @rgb_soda Thank you for submitting your request. I've moved your post from the Square for Restaurants Ideate board to the Square Gift Cards Ideate board.

You can currently do this for each of your locations from the eGift Cards page in your Square Dashboard. You'll just need to be signed into the correct location when you issue the gift card. From here, click the link to your eGift Card portal and you can enter a Promo Code to discount the "cost" of the gift card to $0 so you don't have to enter payment info. Then, you'll enter the customer's email address to send it to them.

apologies for the delay in seeing your responses.

it looks like i am not able to do as you suggest. when i sign into the back office at squareup.com, i am signed into the parent account of all my stores. when i go to gift cards -> egift cards, my options are only "configure" and "discounts," and neither of those show an option to issue an egift card.
