Only allowing certain appointments on certain days

Is there a way to only allow certain services available to book online on a particular day?  For example, I only want clients to be able to book makeup applications on New Year's Eve since it lands  on a Sunday.

What I've had to do as a workaround is create another profile for myself (so a fake team member) and add the specific days and services that I wanted on that calendar. You have to enable "any available staff" so it gives clients the option to choose their service and it'll default to the correct calendar (if you have a service that is on both calendars). Too much of a workaround but it works in the meantime. Also only a decent option for solo worker. having to do this for multiple staff would be a PIA.

Thank you for reaching out with your question. Currently, Square Appointments doesn't provide a built-in feature that allows specific services to be available only on certain days. However, you can implement a workaround by adjusting your availability settings.

 

Here's a workaround from our Square Appointments Specialist:

 

  1. Begin by ensuring the staff profile has no default hours. Navigate to the calendar, click on the clock icon, and a window will appear. From there, click once on the desired day and add the specific hours (please see image below).

Regarding the ability to customize hours per service, this request falls under a feature request. Alternatively, you could create a staff member named "Special Event" and configure a dedicated widget for bookings related to that event.

 

Please keep in mind that while this solution is a workaround, it might suit your needs until a more direct feature is introduced. We appreciate your understanding and feedback, and we'll pass your request for such a feature to our development team for consideration.

Any updates on possible feature release date? This work around requires a lot of monitoring to ensure I don’t double book myself. 

This would be absolutely huge ... the fact that square assumes every shop in the entire US wants to offer EVERY service on EVERY open day is insane... somedays I only want to offer specific services.

Are there any updates on adding this feature? This might be the reason I switch services. 

this would be a really helpful feature.  I have seen it on other booking sites - when setting up a service it also asks what days of the week you would like that service available and what times and then if it is a repeating schedule.   It was really helpful.  I don't want my small appointments to book on my long days- I want that reserved for big projects.  I attempted to set up a dummy staff member to use for one set of services but it was kicked back.  

I seriously NEED this feature! Ready to switch from square altogether..

Does any other app do what we want it to ? I’ll switch right now lol

There are some services we offer that require extra preparation or resources, and our service providers prefer to offer them on certain days. This feature would help us a lot. We currently do not offer certain services through the Appointments system specifically because of this limitation.
