Linking stock

Evening all.

I have a bar with multiple items and would like to know if there is a way to link stock for stock taking purposes.

For example. In my soft drinks category I have orange juice but this same item is available as a variation in my spirits category so that people can add a vodka and orange juice from the same place.

What I want to happen is for the stock to be reduced if someone buys from either the soft drinks category of from the variation in another category.

I thought applying the same SKU to the orange juice would work but it doesn't.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The short answer to this is ‘no’ unfortunately. 

I’ve seen it as a feature request a few time, but think it’s quite a big programming task to undertake.
