In-Person Donations

After speaking with four different Square Support Agents, I learned that there is not currently a way for businesses to accept tips in-person other than creating an item in your inventory. 

While I'm aware that you can set up donations with your Square Online account -- I'd like to collect donations during in-person check out. 

You know when you go to the grocery store, or buy a coffee, the terminal or employee asks you if you want to round up your change or donate a dollar to the "ABC Foundation"? That's what I'm looking for. Something where the customer can select whatever they want. 

I'd also like the option to either have this in lieu of tips or have tips only, or have both.

Hey @notarizerllc - Thank you so much for submitting this Feature Request!  We apologize for the inconvenience you faced while trying to find a way to accept tips in-person through Square. It can be frustrating when a specific feature you need is not available. Square understands that the ability to accept tips in-person is an important aspect for many businesses.

At this time, we have updated this request to the "Open" status. This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Open for Votes" status and bring them to product teams.

Hi @sayra , Maybe I was unclear in my initial post. 

Square is currently set up to allow users to accept tips during in-person checkout. 

I'm wanting a way to collect DONATIONS in person for a charity that we're supporting. Just like when you go to the grocery store and they ask on the pin pad if you'd like to donate $__.
