TLDR: Is it possible to add a prep time option for something like "next day" or toggle the pickup options so that a customer must schedule a day and time for pickup?
We are discovering a severe limitation in the order system.
Our bakery is currently accepting preorders to be available for pickup the next business pickup day, and we currently have pickups three days a week. If a customer orders a pie right now, it will not be available until the next day at the earliest. The Weebly online order system does not seem to differentiate between business hours and pickup days/time. We can set up a preparation time for an item or all items, such as one hour or five hours or one business day, but none of these seem to address our business model. The system sees our pickup times as the same as business days, so if I set the prep time to one business day, then it will skip the next available pickup day window and default to the next.
This just doesn't make sense, and we cannot be the only business encountering this issue?
I would suggest programming the system to differentiate between business hours and pickup hours (we are there every day, but the order won't be available until the next pickup day). Or, toggle an option on pickup so that a customer MUST schedule a pickup day and time (we can then direct our customers to our pickup days).
Under the current system we are stuck. There seems to be no workaround for what we are trying to do. Instead we have items set to be available immediately, and notes and messages to customers all over our site explaining that no, actually, your item will not be available until tomorrow, so please schedule a pickup time...
