Feature Request: Ability to Increase Font Size on Docket

We are a busy restaurant and our chefs are having trouble reading the dockets because the font size is so SMALL and it is causing major issues in service.

 

It is absolutely ridiculous that in 2021 Square can not increase the font size on the dockets.

 

Square should not advertise that they want to support restaurants when they don't even have the capability to do something as simple as change the FONT SIZE on a docket.

 

I am hoping that square will actually see this post and do something about it.

 

Are any other restaurants having this issue????

I wanted to jump back into this thread, after recently answering a similar question raised by @liquidpinecone in the Square for Restaurants board.

To reiterate what I said there, our Product and Beta Teams are aware of this feedback and have recently launched a Beta Program for Custom Printed Tickets (you'll be able to access this link after signing up to the Beta Community) to start addressing this issue. This Beta is currently live and actively recruiting Sellers to help test the experience via their app.


You can sign up to participate in current and future Beta Programs here. For any questions about available Betas, you can reach out to the admins in the group, or contact our Support Team at 1800 760 137 (Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm Melbourne time).

Once a Beta has successfully completed the testing phase, the associated feature undergoes a general release to the wider Square Community. We'll post a Product Update at that time to keep folks in the loop.

In the meantime, if there are any questions at all, feel free to send them our way!

At this time, there isn't a way to to increase the font size on receipts, or dockets. 

 

This is currently a feature request with our receipts team, and we will be sure to share any updates regarding this feature here!

If this is such a feature request then why isn't it something that can be done instantly?

 

I'm telling you that as a big business who use your service it is really causing a lot of operational issues for us. 

 

Surely you want to take care of your clients? If this is not something that can be changed then we will look at going with a different provider.

 

If you look at a docket after its been voided even the word VOID is in large size font.

 

Why can't you apply the same size font that it already enlisted in the system to fix this issue?

 

I'm sorry but your reply is just not good enough. 

 

And by the way this is something that I pointed out to square support when we first signed up 8 months ago and 8 months ago I was told the same thing. That it is something requested by many others but that there is just no resolution at this point in time.

 

Are you saying that even 8 months later nothing has been done to improve the service?

While we're never able to guarantee if or when a given feature request will make it into our final products, we take various factors into consideration when prioritising the development of new features - including but not limited to things like seller demand, which features would benefit the most sellers, cost of production, development resources, what other projects are being worked on by which teams, technical feasibility etc.

We are facing same problem here, but I dicovered that when we use Square register the dockets font size prints in small version, while when we use square for restaurant app on IOS, the dockets printed on BIG font size, why this happen?

 

I believe this would be a great featurer that most business would definetely use for better work internally. 

Any updates on this @Square Team?

Desperately need an option to increase the font size on our kitchen printer.

The font size is so small... the kitchen can't handle not being able to easily read a docket.

Even just the ability to scale the font size by percentage.  Or to even set the font style to increase the size...

C'mon Square this is like 3 years old and I still can't find anyway to increase font size. It's a bit ridiculous because you clearly can have a bigger font as others have stated. 

 

I understand developer cycles and prioritising important features but this would take a junior developer literally a day at most. It's pretty shockingly slow. It's like the dark mode for Square register feature that has been requested so many times. You already have the UI built for the iPad, I sympathise with your designers and developers, I understand things take longer than most people realise but 3+ years to increase a font size. There is no way that happens unless you literally are not interested in doing it.
