Cleaning Up CONTRACTS with ESTIMATES

Cleaning Up CONTRACTS with ESTIMATES

This is a problem with contracts working with estimates for services. You have to link a generic contract from squareup.com to a customer and NOT send it to them, but save it as a PDF to your files, which will allow you to access it in invoices. Then you have to go back into invoices app to grab the estimate or make one, and attach the square contract you made. Once you send the estimate, they get a estimate with a link going to the contract. HOWEVER, if you don’t mention they must sign the contract/service agreement, they might not know and just accept the estimate without signing the contract/agreement. Which you must go back and tell them, you forgot to open up the agreement and scroll to the bottom to sign it.

It is WAY to many steps and cumbersome to go through all these hoops just to add a generic contract for them to read and sign on the estimate sent. Other option is just sending them the contract separately to sign then sending another for the estimate. However, this is not professional looking and customers might not feel obligated to sign, if there is no estimate attached. Do you see the problem?

It would be really nice if they incorporate this a little better. Allow us to attach a square contract that does NOT have to be linked to a customer. Once it is signed, it then attaches to the customer file, etc. Also allowing contracts to be made/edited right in the invoices app rather than having to go to a browser each time (back and forth).

Re: Delete canceled estimates

Hi there, @WGWS 👋 Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community! Happy to have you join us here. Welcome

Good question! Currently, there is no formal deletion process for Estimates or Invoices - in lieu, we have provided the archive action which will keep a trail of potential invoices/estimates for record keeping purposes.

More on this here.

If you have any feedback, I would be happy to pass this along to our Product Teams for visibility. Cheers!

Is there a way to delete canceled estimates?

I know we can archive them, but if I've created an estimate and now know the potential customer is not interested, (hence I've also canceled the estimate), there seems to be little point in keeping it.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you.

Let us know if anything comes up, @WGWS! Cheers!

I did a job for 12.95 yesterday  and the customer hit the × button on top left and delete it by mistake. Can you see if you can find it and pay me for the 12.95

How can I change the dollar amount before I go to the next screen? I made a mistake typing it in.

@Scerni are you referring to editing an estimate before you send it? If so, you can go back to the previous screen by clicking the arrow on the top, left of your screen.

If you're wanting to edit an estimate after it's been sent, you can click the three horizontal dots next to the estimate, click "edit," and go through the steps like you did when creating it. An email will be sent to the customer letting them know of the update. 🙂

Let me know if I'm misunderstanding you at all. I'm happy to keep digging. Also, welcome to the Seller Community!

I have retired and closed my Psychology Practice/ business. Do I need to officially delete my Square account?

Hi @63553367,

Welcome to The Community. Congrats of retirement!

It is completely up to you, you do not have to deactivate the account.  If you do need to access any historical data I would say just keep it open for convenience. But you can always export all your information as well before deactivating. Here is more insight on how you can do that

Also, keep in mind you can always reactivate and deactivate the account at anytime on your end.

I hope this information helps! Please reach out if you need anything else.
