Add a video to Square online items

I'd like to be able to add video to my individual items, in my sector it's an absolute must and I'm quite dismayed to see that Square don't offer this or seem to have any roadmap to when it will be implemented.

Am I missing something or is this not possible currently?

Hi @WakefieldBlaze, welcome to the Seller Community and thank you for raising this!

It is not possible to add video to individual items at the moment on Square Online site. This is a feature request currently being tracked by our Product team. 

I don't have a timeline on when this will be available but I would encourage you to check out our Beta Community to join and potentially get access to new features first when we test them out.

Totally understand the sentiment here and unfortunately, there are no updates just yet. 

At the moment you can add photos, GIFS or 360 photos. The Square Online team are always working on bringing out new features, if there are any updates on this topic I'll let you know here.

Can someone please tell me where the functionality is to embed a video link on an item listing.

It should be on the item listing form but I cannot see it there.

The help guides only refer to adding background videos to a website, it does not explain how to add a video link on an item listing.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community on this. 

I can see there is an archived Feature Request for this that did not go into production, so I've gone ahead and merged your post with another thread where Breffni has outlined the options that are currently available. 

The best solution at this time would be to convert your video to a Gif, which I appreciate is not ideal for a product feature video. 

Do also keep in mind that, supported image types are .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .spin, and .gif files, and you can upload up to 250 images per item. We also recommend:

• Images can be up to 20MB, but we recommend 500KB or less for faster webpage loading speeds.

• Images can be up to 2560 x 2560 pixels. We recommend at least 2000 x 2000 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio.

You can learn more about achieving the best results when adding images and Gif files, here.

In this instance, I'd encourage you to resurface this as a Feature Request on our Ideate Board. Hopefully if the request gains traction within the Community, it may be something that our product team might look at again.

We are now in 2025 ... its extremely frustrating that we can't upload videos to our individual items
