Shared Cash till between all devices

Shared Cash till between all devices

I'm working in a small venue in which we are using 3 stations to take order and payment but we only have 1 cash register/till. It would be great if we could choose in the Device settings between individual till (one per device) or shared till.

So when we close the cash register at the end of the day, the amount in the till is the total amount taken between the 3 devices and should match what I count. It would be really helpful for the Close of the Day process.

Thanks

Hi again, @paulleo! Seeing your name pop up quite a lot today!

At this time, cash drawer reports are device-specific. In the event you have multiple devices accepting cash payments, you would need to connect a drawer to each device and run a report of each one separately.

In the spirit of being transparent with our Sellers on this platform, I cannot see this function changing anytime soon. However, I'll ensure your feedback is passed on to the relevant teams.

Thanks @Laurie_ for your reply. I understand you point but let me give you an example that will I hope convince the Product team of the relevance of adding this feature:

We have an iPad on the floor in a location where customers walk by. For safety reason, we could not have a cash drawer there. However, having an iPad here allows for waiters to place orders but also to check out transactions when needed. When a customer is paying cash, the waiter can check out the bill on the iPad and go to the main cash drawer to get change if needed.

For a venue, to be able to choose between by location, by register/cash drawer or even by staff to reconcile would be really helpful. One of your competitors offers this feature that is explained here. Not every business reconciles by register/cash drawer as explained above so giving your users the choice would only improve the whole Square experience (and I really like Square and want for Square to be perfect otherwise I wouldn't send several feature requests :D)
