What helps clients feel your brand before the service even starts?

One thing Iโ€™ve learned in beauty is that clients often start forming their impression before the service even begins. Sometimes itโ€™s the tone of communication, how easy booking feels, the atmosphere when they walk in, or even those little details that make the experience feel intentional from the start.

I think we all focus so much on delivering a great service, but the feeling around the service matters just as much. Iโ€™d love to hear what little things help your clients feel your brand before they even sit down in your chair or treatment room ๐Ÿ˜Š

I don't own a beauty business but I do own a maker's studio. Color meant a lot - the former owners thought they picked a cheery color "Colorado Dawn" (between apricot and orange) but it read very busy and anxious. People didn't slow down and focus in the space. People often come into our space now (gray with big windows to let natural light in and see greenery outside) and say they feel at peace in the space before they even begin. The former owners also listened to NPR and the news broadcast all day also increased anxiety. These days we use Soundtrack Your Brand to play music in our space.

For me because I am LGBTQ+ and use they/them pronouns - non-gender specific booking matters a lot before I set foot into a new salon or beauty. Easy, gender inclusive booking matters a ton to me. I know whether I will feel comfortable before I even arrive.

I have found smell is a big one since it's the first thing that can get them when they walk in.  I'm already big on aromatherapy so it was easy to incorporate.  I have a diffuser with certain calming essential oils like Lavender or Tulsi so the relaxation and comfort can be felt from the moment they walk in.
