I took a look at your booking site and it looks flawless. If I may ask, are you using Square Appointments or Square online for salon needs?

Square deletes any negative comments so not really getting a realistic picture here…

@erinreyehair thanks for your note, and I can reassure you that our team doesn't delete or remove posts unless they violate our Community Code of Conduct. Our goal is to make this a place for members to share tips and ask for support as needed! If you ever run into any issues or any concerns, please feel free to let us know too!

Max Pete, with all due respect, the issue isn't whether comments technically violate the code of conduct. It's about the interpretation of those guidelines. 'Abusive behavior' is subjective, and users often feel legitimate concerns are suppressed under the guise of 'maintaining a positive community.' When there's a lack of transparency about what constitutes a violation, it creates an environment where people feel censored. Simply stating 'we don't delete unless it violates the rules' doesn't address the underlying issue of how those rules are applied and perceived.

Hey @erinreyehair, I want to clarify that our moderation is focused on maintaining a productive and respectful space for all members. Our Code of Conduct is applied consistently to prevent harmful or disruptive behavior, not to suppress criticism.

It seems like we are getting off topic of this thread. If there are any feature gaps or limitations you've experienced with the Square for Appointments app, please feel free to share with folks asking on this thread.

If you have questions or feedback about how moderation is handled or the Community Code of Conduct, we're happy to discuss further. Feel free to start a new thread or send me a private message.

Oh yes!!! I use the appointment app religiously!!!! I use the websites and this give the clients multiple ways of making an appointment from your unique url site, to google and downloading square for clients to book directly through the app! Utilize all the features and you should love them like I do!!! It’s like having a personal assistant right on your phone. It can take some time setting up to your liking but once it’s set up enjoy!!! And don’t worry about the details I add, takeaway, or edit stuff all the time!!

YES! We love using the Appointments app for booking, checking out, sending invoices, everything really. Square has grown as a platform and it shows over the late few years with their improvements on their products.

I am currently using appointments to book, manage clients and check out. I wish the online booking had more options.  I'd love to be able to have add on buttons.  So if a client clicks on a service.  they would also be asked if they want to add on 1 or 2 services instead of having to make variations for everything. ideally a person could do both.

You should be able to turn on the function that allows multiple services to be selected.

I have used square appointments for my beauty biz for as long as I can remember…inception?  But over 10 years.  They are consistently improving its features and it’s really affordable.  I use the appointment app for teams (plus) payroll, marketing and text messaging features.  Love them all.  Wish I had time in my days to utilize all of the features.

Hello Sheli, I’ve been utilizing the free booking option for square for quite a while now, I enjoy how the app sends appointment reminders and other notifications.

Yes! We have seven stylists and two assistants. For the first 10 years of our business we used a paper appointment book. Right before Covid we switched to square bookings. It was the best decision!

The daily information in the dashboard, automated messages to and from clients, and 24-hour booking frees up time for everyone.

Over time, we have also been able to use the square loans through the app too. The pro is that it is easy to use and gives you any any reports you need. The con is that it crashes a few times a year but they communicate and fix it quickly.

We switched from pencil and paper calendar books to Square and have never turned back. We have scaled our business by 300% with Square. I love how I can run our salon business from anywhere. If clients text or change their appointments, the staff does not have to be interrupted. The self-service aspect of Square eliminates our need for a receptionist.

Yup! Been using now for 7 years. Starting using when I first went independent as a hairstylist over 7 years ago. Now it's providing more options as I've expanded my business to include trichology and scalp care services.
Happy to chat or provide guidance to anyone who might be feeling stuck!

Hello Sheli and Everyone else in this thread.

Yes I have been using square appointments for over 10 years. I use it for my spa here in Toronto/Vaughan Canada.

I offer waxing services, advanced facials(peels/needling) and specialize in Skin tag and & Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) treatments which are those "brown spots" typically found on darker skin tones i.e. Morgan Freeman.

I enjoy using square and appreciate that Square is continuously adding new features. I have put in a recent feature request to add items in the packages. This feature would be great for those that offer services and products such as nail techs, lash techs, barber shops, hair salons, make-up artists etc.

Cheers!

Natalie

We've created Subport for fully customization of subscriptions on Square. and recently connected it with Square Appointments. You can now set up a customized subscription for your salon/clinic/medspa and have your customers booked directly through your own app.
