Square loans 2026

Hi! I am currently @ 49% paid of my 8th loan with square. Typically offers have come in at around 50-60% since. I have seen a few people mentioning that they now do a soft credit pull and am wondering if this pertains to personal credit or business credit?

Hi @moxiemavenandco

Appreciate you taking the time to post.

New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid, but your business may become eligible for a new offer when your existing plan is closer to being repaid. This timing helps to ensure a significant portion of a new loan can be used to reinvest in your business directly rather than repaying your existing loan balance.

Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. Repaying your existing plan does not guarantee that your business will be eligible for another offer.

Don’t hesitate to contact us directly if you have further questions or concerns.

Yes and for lawn care is very normal for fall and winter to drop in sales. Not to mention mostly Walmart and Amazon making all the money around Christmas. I think this is my 3rd year. Last year was incredible..... doubled my square income processing. Yes and exactly most of the time just leave the money in the bank from the loan providing financial peace of mind and it's there when the business needs it. Good luck 🤞 to you and God bless your business 🙏

Thank you! You as well. PS, I don't have much patience when it comes to waiting. It's like watching a painting to dry 😂

Not always, but usually on the norm: loan 1-4/5 are usually out-of-the-blue offers. The algorithm essentially tries to figure out your processing habits to fit you with the proper size based on your history. All loans, how fast you're paying them off with sales, new customers vs regular customers, and how frequently you're taking cards, and the dollar amount. Loan 6 for me was my largest, and from there all increased as my sales and time with Square/years continued. 10 years and zero disputes, but I do have a clear zero-return policy posted. I'm a retail furniture store. I fill out all factory warranty policies when they purchase a new kitchen table or couch. They sign it, and I mail it out. 75% of customers never fill it and return it. Their warranty is anywhere from 10 years to life. I can't beat that. When we repeat, keep swiping, and try to increase the dollar amount, we get new customers, which all equal a healthy and growing business. History and the ones I mentioned are exactly what are helping the algorithm kick in and take a second look at your account. You have more than tripled your sales in 3 years. Those are amazing numbers. IMO, I don't see any questions or concerns about you receiving another offer; it's just a matter of when, and nobody can crack that algorithm yet! 😆

Exactly and I think my next offer would be number 6 . It's just slows down in the fall and winter. I still keep a decent amount of recurring revenue all year but the clients that only like spring and summer service those drop off in November and return in March. I'm sure it will happen... square makes money from the loan. I have clients they have remained recurring payments bi weekly for probably 3 years now. So I feel positive once all these newest spring clients attach a credit card on file and algorithms hit just right it will send an offer. I will keep y'all updated soon as I receive one. Just to keep everyone informed and positive experiences with recurring loans.

I will keep them coming and it's very true every word. It's easy for someone to get upset about an offer when they are relying on it at a certain percentage!

I looked and asked around, and honestly, with disputes, it's so random. You won, and it's been over 6 months, and nothing. Your first dispute should have dropped IMO. I am going to reach out again and see if someone can look at your ACCOUNT!  Unfortunately, if it were up to me I would be like Oprah up in here and giving out loans to everyone! 😉

I've been watching, and I have asked and asked. Unfortunately, there really isn't a timeframe that anyone can tell me for a 1st dispute to a 4th dispute. The only ones who have had it removed were those who called in, and only accounts can do it. I know we've talked about this before, and business is doing well. It's just that fact, after your track record with loans and with Square 1 dispute in your favor, and what's going on now for 7-8 months? You are a good person and much calmer than I am that is for sure, but sshhh I'm Italian too! 😆

@Twpchair ive called and got the same answer, nothing is wrong on your account everything looks good, dispute whether it’s in your favor or not it’ll fall off after a year etc etc, I don’t really need the loan but it be nice to see how much my next offer be whether lower or higher. But I know my business is doing pretty decent

Did you say a year? There have been many changes within Square to streamline operations and make things run smoothly for businesses. Different apps and tools for us to choose from, but in the end, I always go back to the basics and what made Square the leader in the POS industry, and that was you swiped a card and money was in your bank that night, and loans. They lead the pack, and sometimes you have to remember where you came from before you keep pushing forward—just my opinion. You are one of a kind and I truly appreciate all your help back here and encouraging others! Thank you!!!

Yes @Twpchair i was told multiple times and just Reddit search some say after a year it’ll fall off, now it still doesn’t affect the loan offers, but it’s crazy to say I still have yet received an offer, but like you said they’re maybe learning my business, I know this year so far I made almost what I made last year total so my business financially grew big. I also read on the loan page some where that the metric they put must all be in good standard idk it’s all confusing, again I didn’t join square cause of the loans I never knew they offered it til I got it within my first month being a customer with square so I took it as a bonus, but either way I’m still here and will ride this wave out lol hope all is well with you

Doing well, thank you. And yes and no on metrics. I have seen many cases where it might say 'needs work' for new customers or daily swipes, and still receive an offer. They tend to be lower, but once that goes up, so do sales, and the next offer usually follows. It is hard as we are all unique and process things differently. I think 1 year for a dispute is pretty harsh, imo.

Great that the loans have been working out for you.

I think that one thing that gets lost is the big picture of Square and specifically Square loans.  They are dealing with millions of users and giving out more than 1,500 loans a day.  during the last public quarterly stats on loans (not Square Cash loans those are seperate) they had 136,000 loans totaling $1.38 billion in originations in 90 days.  THat is a lot, more than a person can wrap their mind around vs their one business in the sea of millions of users.  Many think they are giving out 1 or 5 loans a day but it comes out to more than 1 every minute.

Glad to see someone posting here happy instead of the usual if Square won't give me money I am leaving type posts.

It's like they blackmail....hope square sees my comment lol need a loan or I'm switching to stripe 🤣

But I get it tough times call for tough measures.

I definitely am not going anywhere I have way too many clients in the system to turn away. Patience is key 🗝️

Yes of course I love square I know it's a business and they have to make money just like we all do. I'm pretty positive my sales are going to be triple from March 2025 last year. I bet once the algorithm sees that.... it's going to issue an offer. Lol 🤣 they wait til they see big bank cause they want in on it too.

Triple sales and April have always been great months for me for offers for some reason? I know why, after tax season, long winter, and ladies are ready to shop and redo that house. I'm in the retail furniture business, and February and March are the kick-off months for sales. Hopefully, by the time we're done sharing business practices, those offers will pop up!
