Square loans 2026

Hi! I am currently @ 49% paid of my 8th loan with square. Typically offers have come in at around 50-60% since. I have seen a few people mentioning that they now do a soft credit pull and am wondering if this pertains to personal credit or business credit?

Hi @moxiemavenandco

Appreciate you taking the time to post.

New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid, but your business may become eligible for a new offer when your existing plan is closer to being repaid. This timing helps to ensure a significant portion of a new loan can be used to reinvest in your business directly rather than repaying your existing loan balance.

Keep in mind that we canโ€™t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. Repaying your existing plan does not guarantee that your business will be eligible for another offer.

Donโ€™t hesitate to contact us directly if you have further questions or concerns.

Here we go!!! 1 more down. It can take 1-3 days, depending on the day of the week and the time you received it.  Just watch your dashboard; if no information is needed, it's just a tad behind. There's been a big push! Congratulations again!

1st congratulations on the stats! The metrics have been a blessing and a curse IMO. I'm guessing that I hear 50xs a day โ€œI'm all greenโ€ and yet, still no offer. Unfortunately, metrics are NO guarantee of a loan. They are a great tool for us to track our sales, processing, etc. I have seen just as many people post that they need work in certain areas that received offers as those all green. I use mine to track my account. If I dip then I know what I need to do. When it rolled out it took off like it was a deciding factor and unfortunately, it is not. Square takes into account your total account. From processing (especially increased) sales up, swipes up, and new customers vs returning. Prior history and loan history. It might sound like a repeat but they are telling you what the algorithm is picking off. All these points point to a good strong solid business. My last offer was my highest, but my cards increased by 75k my cash by 42k, and all of this I was watching my metrics. Your numbers are great, keep up the numbers and the algorithm will do its job. It's frustrating and not knowing if or when is rough. With millions of users, loans are going out daily. Best of luck

This is exactly how I feel. I donโ€™t understand the purpose in giving us metrics that ultimately are useless.

It sets the stage for us business owners to expect a loan offer to come in but when it does not it drastically changes planning and forecasts.

Iโ€™d like more clarity also.

I understand exactly where you are coming from. Unfortunately, when the metrics were released, the wording led most users to believe that all guidelines were green, which would trigger an offer. Then, it was relayed that they are a โ€œtoolโ€ for us to use for sales, trends, year-over-year comparisons, and zero real impact on an offer, kinda like linking your bank. โ€œCouldโ€ and will are not close. The last I knew, the algorithm was looking for swipes, swipe volume, and new users. Regardless of your numbers to trigger it, you have to go above those numbers to kick it in. Clarity: a set of real numbers to reach; if you hit XX% and no issues, the offer should be extended. The algorithm can crunch your numbers. It's easy to say, but fighting a computer is a challenge. I agree with you. Transparency and real communication shouldn't be too much to ask for. Good luck!

My 5-6th loan was my longest wait. The algorithm is picking up your processing, sales, and prior loan history. I looked back and I was 92% paid off and my largest offer to date then. Hopefully, the same cycle is continuing. Good luck.

Looks like Iโ€™ll be in the same waiting boat as every one else, this be my 4th square loan, 1-2-3 I got em two days after I received the email that I paid them off, so far itโ€™s been about a week on this recent loan payoff, I believe itโ€™s due to my dislute early last year, 4 disputes one same customer, 2 was in my favor on square, the other two I had to take him to court and won in my favor. We had a snow storm so my weekly sales dropped 1500$, my average a week is about 6500$. So two factors are saying needs work. Dispute and my processing volume, although I still get updated every day so it may come may not, only time will tell. Tried research if any one had similar case as me but evidently didnโ€™t find any. Good luck everyone hope yall business strive and beat last year income.

Itโ€™s going, my sales are up real good after this storm, every thing is showing good besides the dispute says needs work, I donโ€™t understand if the case is close Iโ€™m assuming thatโ€™s why I havenโ€™t received a new offer yet. Although not hurt for it, just be nice to have and upgrade a portion of my building and complete my parking lot with concrete

@abbeyc, let's see if she can reach out to you by email and find out. If both disputes were found in your favor and it's been how long now? Plus you won the court case. Great history with loans ect. Business is growing and growing. She is the best at getting back with you and addressing the problem or if there isn't and just hasn't hit you yet. You have a great attitude about though. Not like we change it or control it. Good luck.

No point in getting mad, or upset how square runs their loan program, at the end of the day we didnโ€™t apply for square just for loans, we used it to take card sales etc and itโ€™s one of the top 5 for payments, I get where some business is in need of it, but itโ€™s all in the business how well your doing, how much payments your taking in, how much new and old clients, etc. since this year Iโ€™ve made over 30k in sales as long my business is thriving Iโ€™m grateful, yeah could use a boost but donโ€™t really care for it. It comes it comes it donโ€™t it donโ€™t. But definitely if she wants please take a look but I just believe itโ€™s due to the fact it hasnโ€™t been a year since the dispute. As long Iโ€™m not getting any more and as long I keep swiping Iโ€™m sure an offer will come. Just a matter of time.

Unfortunately, that's all we can do! It always seems to be when you need it it's never around and when you don't then the offer comes in. Good luck to you!

Have you tried calling into accounts to ask for a qualification? You have to get past customer service and go to accounts. Explain your account, provide supporting documentation, and let them know you would like to upload your court papers and have your account reviewed. By doing so, they can tell you where it stands and what they are looking at to get your account back to green and not need work. They should be able to correct the metrics so that they reflect what you or we can see. If not, I've seen some for a year or more, and others for 6 months. WE also have to remember it's a computer, and we have to reach a human for clarification and help. You are a prime example of the perfect customer, along with others. You swipe and swipe, and when you have your first issue, you should be able to reach out immediately and have someone look into it. I know what you do back here, and I appreciate it and the help you provide. Now, it's time for you to reach out. If you don't get the right help at first, thank them and wait a few minutes, and call back. It's no different from any other call center: you need the right person to listen to you and get you to the right person. It's time ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can tag all day but if the ones I'm tagging aren't here it's not helping you. Please just call on Monday and take care of yourself and your business. Good luck! You need anything else please tag me ok.

You got through to accounts and not customer service? Did you explain why it was there? Mine in early January threw up a red flag over getting locked out multiple times in a week due to a new phone and the new number it would update the new information when I called in, but the next day it kicked it out again. 2 weeks of this and boom up pops needs work in accounts. I called and got a random yes. It will be updated and reflected soon. No, I said it will update while I am on the phone with you, and I want the โ€œneeds workโ€ removed while we are on the phone. Long hold, and they requested information about the change and why. I sent and uploaded the information right there. I got a bad phone right out of the box and sent it back in. New number due to 2 weeks dealing with the cell phone company, ugh. Uploaded that information. An hour and a half later, it was done and done right, and the needs work in accounts was gone and green again. If I can get a person who listens to me and I replied multiple times, it had nothing to do with a loan, but I needed to update the system to recognize the new device and update all the information that would last not just overnight. 3 or 4 Reps later, I got a very nice one who helped.

I don't and won't give up till it is working properly. If it isn't off in a couple of days, call back, hun. Don't mention the L would at all. Just repeat: you have NO disputes, and you would like it removed now, please. It has been long enough; you need to see your workflow metrics and compare daily, weekly, and monthly. Your business needs to run sales or discounts. I'll wait while you do it.  Thank you so much. That one area is vital for an offer, and you had one in all your time open and one that it. It's affecting you, and you want it removed now, and not oh, it will fall soon. This is NOT about an offer, but your account and the tools you need to run and compare stats properly. They can't determine your loan or offer, or won't. They can fix your account status with the right Rep. With as much time you've spent to win your 1 dispute, it's not too much to ask for them to help remove something that day, over all this time, especially given how dedicated, loyal, and helpful youare to Square. We have to take control and put in the work, and the key is getting to someone who will listen. Good luck to you. Please keep me posted, and don't forget it has nothing to do with an offer, but getting your account addressed and fixed while you wait. Without us, there is no them. You might see it as you're just 1 person, but it adds up.

I've noticed my laste 3 loans I didn't get a new offer until about 3 to 4 days after the loans were completely paid. I use to get them once I hit 75% paid.

I'm gonna assume this is a generic and automated response.

Unfortunately, we all got used to that 75% and almost guarantee of a loan. Those days are gone for the most part. You will still see the random mid-60s to 70s but mostly 85%-to paid off. Each person is different and how we process but on the whole it's been trending higher. Good luck to you!

This definitely seems to be the trend, and also makes sense for the consumer, so that your new loan goes all to you and not a big chunk to pay off the previous loan.

Square consumer lending was up 69% year over year, so it isn't going anywhere, but may seem rare when there are millions of Square users, and even giving out thousands of loans a day seems like nothing, but is actually huge amounts in total.

I just wanted to check if this is happening only to me or to everyone. With my new loan, I donโ€™t see the eligibility criteria section with the green โ€œGoodโ€ indicators. Itโ€™s not there at all. When you click on the Loans icon and go to the loan page, then press the current balance square, it takes you to the round percentage page. Normally, after that, you can click โ€œMore detailsโ€ and see the eligibility details with the green โ€œGoodโ€ and โ€œNeeds workโ€ signs. However, there is no option to click โ€œMore detailsโ€ anymore.

Is this the same for everyone?
