Loan offers

Hello

I have had five loans now and I always get offers when I am 75% paid off

I am now over that and still no offers

contacting the loan team is pointless they just say the same thing

I can’t get my head around the whole process and pint of a loan team that can’t help

Hey there @Ggrice0208.  Not Square here, but someone who has used Square Loans occasionally over the years. I understand your frustration, but as we all know the loan offer process is something of a mystery.  This is mostly because there are not really "loans" by the strict definition, but rather merchant cash advances (MCAs) which are tied to a number of data points on our Square accounts, rather than tied to credit files and such.  That being said.....

Has anything drastic changed with your history with Square?  I'm thinking specifically about your card processing volume, since the single most important metric that Square's algorithm uses is our card processing activity.  If, for example, your card volume is flat over the past months since you received your current loan, then it might take longer before you would be eligible this time around.  Or, if your card volume is trending downward right now, then it definitely will taking longer to be eligible (if you are even eligible at all).  Payoff percentages are really meaningless, I've learned.  What matters is our ability (as demonstrated by our card volume and sales, etc) to pay back loans consistently and within a 12-18 month period.

I've gotten new loan offers at as low as 60%, though not in the past few years since the worldwide credit market is in turmoil.  I've gotten other offers at 80-90%, and even a few long after I had paid off a current loan.  I can say that over the past few years, if I've even wanted a Square Loan, I've noticed they have come much sooner.  But last year my card volume was up 30+% over the previous year, and this year it is up 20+%, so my business is actually screaming eligibility on all fronts.

Anyway, the payoff% is not a metric to hang your hat on.  What matters is card volume trends (up/down/flat), card processing frequency and consistency, lack of dings (disputes, large returns, etc) and so forth.

I wish you the best.

Has anyone received any offers yet? I am 75% paid off and I usually receive an offer by now. Sales have been pretty good so I’m confused 😐😩 with the holidays quickly approaching I would love to have extra cash flow to purchase more inventory for my business

Yes, offers are coming in every day! The percentage is difficult to determine, but the main thing to remember is the daily swipes and the volume of swipes or dollar amount. Those all equal a strong, healthy business. If sales are up daily and weekly, not just maintaining a steady level. The metrics are an excellent tool for us to gauge what needs work, week by week or month by month. Unfortunately, all green doesn't mean an offer is coming. Square also takes into account your past loan history and the length of your relationship with them. All of these, along with some luck from the algorithm, are what are earning the early offers. So when we scream 'keep swiping,' it's for a reason 😉 Good luck, and hopefully soon!

I’m starting to think you’ve gotta have your loan completely paid off before they give new offers! Everyone I’ve seen this month who got one had their last loan finished. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m at 92% and literally move a percent every day — still nothing! So I’m thinking all those people saying they’re getting offers while still having a loan might not be right. 😅

They are; my last offer was in the mid-60s. The key to those is sales, and numbers have got to be moving up daily—the amount of swipes, volume, and frequency. I am up this year, just over 30% from the previous year, and 46% from the prior year. No returns, no chargebacks. These numbers have been key this year. I can't fix or predict an algorithm, and when it comes. I can monitor my metrics and use them to inform me what and where needs work. They are looking for growth, not just mainting and a negative low to none.

You are on loan five, which is excellent. You are establishing a relationship with Square, and the algorithm is working and doing its job of crunching the numbers from the last loans, including how much and how fast you are paying them back. It's been years and years since my first loan. I do remember, and we see it here as well. As you grow with Square, so should your offers. I think it was loan 4 or 5 that I received my first big offer after the 1-5k range. That was way before metrics and all that, but it still holds pretty true. There are outside sources that also come into play. That's why, when anyone says 'keep pushing and process as much as possible,' it's to see if you are up there, in terms of percentage, sales, etc., to see if it helps trigger an offer. Good luck and I hope this is your big offer!

I finally got one at 79% last week after putting a date on having to accept the credit card offer and praying 🙏 . the day came and so did the offer! Just to test the system A few days later I applied for the credit card and was denied! Even though my 3 loans were paid at half the time allotted. I would NOT have been overextended with a 10k credit card.

My prayers are with you!

Almost everything y’all say we need to do is way more than what I already do. I go up in % every single day — this isn’t my 5th loan, it’s my 12th! I’ve been with Square since 2019 and never had this problem before. Each loan I’ve had was always higher than the last, and I never had to go over 80% to get a new offer. So honestly, I really do believe Square isn’t giving out new loans until after the current one’s paid off.

First, I apologize for my comment, as it went under yours and not the other account. My comment regarding the 5th loan should have gone under the other user's comment. Good luck to you, and hopefully it comes before you are paid off.

Thanks for the update and good news!

I was calling Thursday last week D day and when I looked at email and didn't have an offer I logged in to complete the 10k credit card offer ( which I absolutely did NOT want to do but was necessary for seasonal purchases) and A LOAN OFFER WAS THERE! **I have to tell you that I had been praying for God to give me a sign about what to do, and had set Thursday as my date of decision. Whatever you believe in... I feel ot important that I give testimony to my praying and answer. It was 7k less than last time but still helps.

I was at 79% paid off and have had 💯 Good ratings on all categories and positive sales growth and card usage since my first loan (this is #3)

Btw...the credit card offer was still there so to test the system I applied and was denied! I knew it!

I also was approved for the loan immediately and funds were deposited by end of business day.

It's a great deal with rates MUCH lower than any other loan or credit card, so I dont know what others are complaining about.

What kind of business do you have? I am in Kansas City and have had a brick and mortar boutique for 17 years. Just started Square 3 years ago.

11/18/25 all green and at 78%. Recently received a kick in the teeth lain from square. I’ve had and repaid 17 loans going back to 2015. Had a large loan in 2022 for 20k , also diagnosed w cancer that year and had to take a year off. Repaid the loan in 24 months rather than the customary 18 months. Got another loan in October 2024. Got an offer for 12.5k a week later. Paid it off in April of 2025. Received another loan for 11.5k. Busted **bleep** and was finally offered another loan today 11/18/25. For 8k. I started with a $400 loan way back when I first started. Even though I was late w my largest loan to date iron 2022. I’ve scaled my business (tattoo shop). From 3-5k (50-60k yr)a month to over 20k (200-240k a yr)a month with minimal staff. Every time a question gets answered it’s the same canned response. I’m tired of not being able to discuss this with a human and not wait for hours on the phone. I wish for way more transparency with the process. I’m glad that unlike some posters in here I’m not counting on the loans for inventory purposes. But I’d have liked another loan on the level with my growth. I’ve always ahead of my payment cycle and usually if it’s a 10 k or less it’s usually 3/4 months in slow season to pay it off. Everything in the green and ahead of payments yet square can’t be bothered to at least talk to one of us instead of just milking us for fees and to say”just keep processing” it bull crap. I’m looking into another POS service to handle my business as they can’t even be bothered to respond. I declined the offer as it’s not worth my holiday pay to pay it back. I’ll keep the cash and look elsewhere. Square is losing a long time customer here and it saddens

I keep reading the same things yet all of my eligibility factors are good. All.of my processing is consistent. The last 4 years. I always get one loan at a time. I pay it off way ahead of time months 6-8 every time. There are no factors in my opinion. They just do what's best for them. They say they are helping small businesses but the help is never there when you actually need it nor can you ask for it. It has substantially slowed in offers. I owe $800. Everything says good, keep it up. Lol. Well duh. 🙄

Same here I’ve had 9 loans all

paid off in 6 months

the loan team in my opinion is a waste of time

all they say  is keep processing and they can’t help with applications 😂😂

they are like a stuck record

bare in mind square charge a lot for a loan so the whole process needs looking at

If you could please look at the newer threads on 2026 loans, this is what 99% of users are saying as well—clarity, honest answers, consistency, transparency. We're not children, and many 8- to 10-year-olds would like to know what's going on. Unfortunately, the Mods here do their very best. Since this is an open forum for the world to see, they can only give you the bare minimum information. Calling in is a dice roll to get to the loan department. Unless you have an issue with your account, you are in the algorithm purgatory. Since January, for those who report here, it has been a long time between reports. Good luck, and hopefully, something breaks soon.

I’m not going to try to sugarcoat anything. You are welcome to join the not-so-fun party on the newer threads, 2026 loans, or I apologize for another loan thread with 2026 in it from January. Unfortunately, at least the ones who post are all right with you, with 90% to 1-3 months paid off and no offer yet. Frustration is high, but sometimes the voices are heard. 1st. The metrics, when they were rolled out and introduced, had the wording that implied green meant a " go type of thing. Metrics are tools we use to gauge how the business is doing vs. previous years. It does NOT guarantee or promise any offers. I am not saying you believe all green means “where's my money”; just letting you know what the majority of the conversation is about, along with clarification, communication, transparency, etc. You are not alone, and I wish I could tell you that people are reporting like crazy with new offers. Unfortunately, at least those who report here, it's been few and far between. Good luck to you, honestly, and please check out the other post as well.
