Loan January 2026

Has anyone had a loan offer recently? We were counting on an offer by now at 82 percent paid because we have always had offers by now.

Hi @csmajesticinc1 !

We appreciate you sharing your frustrations about eligibility. Please know that we are always working to make our products and services better.

I know it can be frustrating not being eligible for a new loan, but we are unable to override the automatic review process with a manual review. We review your account everyday for new eligibility and if at any point you become eligible we will definitely let you know!

You know what you have to do and you get it done. The thing is the mods tell you in a round about way what they are looking for but people look right over it and they hear the same things over and over so they hear. But, they are telling you to continue to swipe, get the sale or volume up and new customers. The rest is personal information and they can’t tell you on a public platform about your private information. Good on you!

I am extremely sorry i was outstation and had less access to communication. On sunday they send me a offer for $7300. My last loan which i paid off was $23000+fees. It was $15700 decrese and loan offer came when i was 99% paid off. Litterally if i calculate 99.99%. I am genuinely dissapointed because my sales were not decreased... It was increased but $7300? Atleast $12k could have been understandable... 23k to 7.3k was unbelievably low... But i accepted it thinking its small loan and will be paid quickly we could get a better deal next time.. Fingers crossed...

At least you received an offer even if it was much lower than your previous loan. Not sure what is going on with the algorithms, I’ve always gotten an offer between 65%-72% our last loan was taken in June of 25’ which is already 74% paid off and we haven’t gotten another offer from Square Loans yet. We have a seasonal business and Jan-Feb are our slowest months but we still consistently process over $20,000 in CC even in the slow months and we have been with Square since 2018 so the past pattern of sales should be noted. I could really use the additional capital right now for inventory to stock up for our busy season. Best of luck to you.

I am saddened to hear that people are going through this situation. However, it seems that loan offers may be made, though likely not before 80% of the existing loan is repaid. Based on information shared in the community, most offers appear to come only after 95% or more of the current loan has been paid off basically when it is nearly fully settled. Don’t lose hope, but it seems the offer may come only after 95–99% has been repaid.

I just wanted to check if this is happening only to me or to everyone. With my new loan, I don’t see the eligibility criteria section with the green “Good” indicators. It’s not there at all. When you click on the Loans icon and go to the loan page, then press the current balance square, it takes you to the round percentage page. Normally, after that, you can click “More details” and see the eligibility details with the green “Good” and “Needs work” signs. However, there is no option to click “More details” anymore.

Is this the same for everyone?

That could possibly be a connection or may need to update operating system. Make sure everything is updated. Because I see the indicators here on my iPad.

Hi, I did send a email to the square support team and below is the respond i received (The respond received is not relevant to the question because i didn't ask about a loan.. I asked why my statistics are not showing.... I have replied to the response but no response for the same yet.

1st response received from square-

Hi J,

Hope you are having a wonderful day and thank you for contacting us. I'm Noah and I am reaching out to you on behalf of the Square Loans Team.

Due to your current account activity, we are unable to evaluate your eligibility for a Square loan at this time and cannot predict when you may be eligible in the future. If you do become eligible for a Square loan, you’ll be notified directly on your Square Dashboard and via email.

We hope this information was helpful! Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have additional questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Noah B
The Square Loans Team

My reply to the first response -

Dear Noah,

I appreciate you reply and I also understand that evaluations take time; however, the continued lack of transparency regarding my account status is increasingly concerning.

Previously, we were able to view performance statistics and eligibility insights directly through the dashboard. At this time, I am not requesting a loan. I am simply requesting access to the same data and metrics that were previously available. Previously I could see this data from first day of the loan…

Visibility into performance indicators and eligibility criteria is essential for responsible business planning and financial management.

Based on information I have received from the Square Community, other merchants are still able to view these statistics and eligibility details on their dashboards. In my case, there is currently no visibility whatsoever. This inconsistency is difficult to understand, particularly given that I have satisfied my required payment obligations through April 2026, including for the new loan.

I would appreciate a clear and direct explanation as to why this information is no longer accessible on my account.

Additionally, I would like to address something candidly: I trust that my prior inquiries have not resulted in any additional scrutiny or limitations on my account. My questions were raised in good faith, solely to better understand the process.

I respectfully request transparency and clarification on this matter and look forward to your prompt response rather than an all in one generic response.

Thank you. After I sent my second email to Square Support (copied above), they replied with the following message:

Your Eligibility Tool page is currently visible. We recently added a new eligibility page that you can navigate to by going to the Loans tab on your Square Dashboard. This page was built to help our sellers gain insight into the status of their Square Loans eligibility by taking your business’s real time data and comparing it to key factors that determine eligibility. If any of your eligibility factors need work, you can look at the tips we provide to strengthen your chances of becoming eligible. Please note that there are many factors that may affect your eligibility, and accounts are evaluated as a whole. Do not rely on the information we provide in the Square Loan eligibility page to predict a loan offer. We cannot promise a loan offer, even where all of the factors on the eligibility page are “Good.” If you become eligible, you’ll be notified directly on your Square Dashboard and via email. Find out more about Square Loan eligibility in our Support Center. We hope you find this information useful and welcome any feedback you may have. Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have additional questions or concerns.

However, I find this response somewhat surprising because they mentioned that they “recently added a new eligibility page,” which is not accurate in my case. I have been seeing the same eligibility page since my first loan through Square up to my most recent one. Interestingly, the page became active again only after I received their email.

It’s such a mystery. Kudos to our fellow business owners who don’t need this loan. But two months ago the whole staff quit. unexpectedly. some of the spouses got 100% disability and so on and so on. put my wife, and I have a huge bind. we are currently at 87%. If this thing don’t trigger in the next week or two we’re doomed Lord knows we need it.

I am sorry to hear about the situation with the staff. I hope it comes through quickly for you. I hate to preach to the choir, but if you can keep swiping as much as possible, you can. Also, try to get the dollar amount of the swipes up. 3rd: new customers vs returning customers. These are some of the triggers needed. Square also considers prior loans and your history with Square.

As you can see from the thread, it's been trending higher for the most part. You can see the occasional 60-70% pop in. But, as they stated, they had increased sales volume. Best of luck with everything, and please keep us posted.

My eligibility page has been updated as well from the previous one. From the other threads, it looks like a couple of businesses like yours received loans from February 1st to around February 10th or 12th, but there were no metrics. Hopefully, all is good now. I look at mine daily also for comparison, swipes, and new customers. So I understand this is a good tool for us. I am glad that you have it back. Thank you for sharing your concerns and for following up. It does help others who might be going through the same thing. Keep up those numbers, and here's to a great 2026 to everyone!

Received an offer yesterday.    67% paid.  Minimal increase but I do not normally receive an offer this time of year as it is my slow season.   However we changed the way we bill our customers that has driven in more sales, increased the amount per sale.  We also offered a discount which drove another increase in sales and new customers.      This is what I have been saying all along.   The more you swipe and get your numbers above your normal the more likely you are to receive a loan.  Remember these loans are based off sales, not how much you paid in a certain amount of time.     The minimum set for you to reach in the given time period is what the system thinks you can handle comfortably.  Showing that you cannot only reach that but go over it is a trigger.    Keep Swiping!

Honestly in my opinion no one knows when the loans coming, or how much they’re getting, I agree just keep swiping, eventually you’ll get an offer, the metric is just an example to base off of, I know my disputes from earlier on the year is what’s hurting me getting a offer but in my business I really don’t need it, it comes it comes it don’t it don’t, I’m just glad I’m not in other shoes depending on it for rent or etc. congrats btw

@brown17 Congratulations on your new offer👏🎆! For future reference, you can continue to use the eligibility page to gain more insight into the status of your Square Loans eligibility. Please keep in mind, we cannot promise a loan offer, even where all of the factors on the eligibility page are “Good.”

That was exactly my point.    I was offering insight to those who state they are paying their loan and no offer has come yet.
