Has anyone used a Square account for their personal bank account too?

Considering moving not just my business banking over to Square but also my personal banking.

As per Square it's possible to have just a personal account without a company name attached to it.

So I would have two separate businesses and one personal bank account.

On the surface it seems ideal:

- moving funds between business <--> personal would seamless, free, and instant
- everything in one dashboard using the Dashboard app
- although paltry, it has a savings account option
- ability to bill pay via ACH using routing/acct numbers
- debit card with a high transaction limit

For people that have actually tried this for more than, say, 6 months:

- any downsides?
- what do you most miss vs. a traditional personal checking account from a traditional big bank?

Any details you're willing to share are appreciated.

Hey, @caseyallen 👋

Wanted to jump in to clarify that at this time, Square doesn't offer Personal Banking Accounts. All Square Checking and Savings account will be directly linked with your Square Business account and the transactions you perform on the account. You can learn about our Banking features here.

Thanks for jumping in here JJ.

If you wouldn't mind, can you please double check this?

Square's AI support stated clearly and unambiguously that I can create an account for personal use.

Also Square's human support yesterday stated clearly and unambiguously that I could create an account for personal use.

Ah! I see now. Well you can indeed create a Square Personal account for something like a Garage Sale or your "Christmas Baked Goods" and your account would be created with your Social Security Number instead of an Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Tax ID. However the Square Checking account created under this separate Square account is also a Business Checking Account for your Personal Account.

I know its a bit confusing, so feel free to ask away any other questions you may have.  By the way thank you for sharing these screenshots and details. They were really helpful!
