I recently migrated from Stripe to Square because Square mentioned a 0% transaction fee if payments are deposited directly into Square Checking. I opened a Square Checking account and did not link any external bank account to it, but I was still charged 1% on each transaction. I called customer service for more than 5 hours, but nobody seemed to know why I was being charged or how to fix it. I also emailed their supervisor twice but never received a response.
Is this misleading information? Does this 0% fee actually exist? Has anyone successfully had the 1% fee waived by using Square Checking?
I’m very disappointed with the customer service and the attitude I’ve received. I’m now considering switching to another payment platform. I’d really appreciate any advice or feedback from anyone who has had a similar experience.
