I'd be happy to pass this feedback along to our product team. In the meantime, you can achieve something similar by creating a Customer Group Discount.
The discount will automatically apply when a buyer from the group is added to a transaction. You can use this feature to create a group of customers who have subscribed to your plan, making the checkout process faster.

Hi have created a group that I have added my friends. Then created an automatic discount and added my friends group to it and made it a % discount.
I was expecting that when they went to checkout via online it would automatically apply a discount, but I simply cannot get it to work. The system does recognise them, and they are in the friends group applied to the automatic discount )
At this time, discount groups will work when checking out a sale on your POS, but not online or on checkout links, @Rick1969. Thanks for letting us know this is something you'd like to see applied on checkout links as well!
