Stop hiding numbers on Square terminal when entering CC manually

How do you check the CC number you manually entered on Square Terminal to ensure the number is correct when each digit is replaced with a dot?

Seems like a logical thing to me. How many times have you been on the phone with a company buying something and they say "Let me repeat the card number back to you"? I am unable to do this currently.

Called hardware support and was told it is to stop the credit card terminal from being hacked. Cannot understand what the security risk is. I would like to check I entered the card correctly before hitting charge.

Anyone else have this issue or are you just going to a computer and entering it manually through a browser?

Seems like it should be an option to turn off the option to auto-hide the digits.
