Retail App: Serial Number

This seems so very basic, but it's missing from Square Retail and something that is needed for our business. Currently, there is a notes field for individual products, but you cannot scan serial numbers to populate that field. 

Suggested Solution: Impliment a dedicated serial number field that can be populated using a scanner. It would be nice to set individual items to require a serial number, with a prompt telling us to enter it during a transaction.

Other than that, our Square experience has been great!

Our company hasn't committed to square yet as we are still testing to make sure it fits what we need, that being said I just want to add my input and say that serials would be a great thing to add for tracking certain assets in a retail environment.

We track serials on all electronics in our store which include laptops/hard drives/routers/printers/etc.

It's important that we track these serials in the event that warranty & RMA's comes into play. While we typically do not deal with warranty as it is the responsibility of most of our clients, there are a few bigger clients that we have agreements with that we do deal with warranty on behalf of.

There are devices installed on site that we are unable to pull serials from sometimes without interrupting our clients work environment, so having serials in our point of sales system can really be a life saver.

I realize this doesn't apply to all businesses, as for some serials mean nothing.. but in our store it's very important for us to track them and i'm sure many others would appreciate it as well.

dang  it seems so simple to add from our end, just a cell for input that can be searched.  we sell retail brick and mortar only and from time to time we get customers returning items from the internet that can be disguised as items we sold them if we cant track serial numbers, along with being able to track the warranty information. it is really needed, we had it on our old quickbooks pos and this is probably the one most missed feature, along with multiple cells for information and better search abilities.  

while on the subject of features, can you add more to the purchase order so we can adjust prices and tie the warehouse number to the search, it would be nice to be able to modify everything, especially retail prices, at that point when we are addressing the purchase price anyway.

We also need the ability to add serial numbers. Our products have warranties, and we MUST track by the serial number of what is sold. Has this been added yet???
