Partial Invoice Capture

Hello,

I have a request that I believe will help many merchants that sell physical products to customers. This definitely would not help just me and my business.

The idea is to be able to capture a partial payment from an order - be able to invoice only part of the order and charge only for the changes (charge for the remaining items on the invoice).

Possible situations:

1) Customers make mistakes or may change their mind after placing the order.

2) The order might contain items that end up being out of stock (for various reasons) and the customer is fine to just simply remove the out of stock items and continue with the in-stock items being charged.

What partial capture fixes:

A) This is much easier for us, the merchant and for the customer, to simply change the QTY or remove the affected items from the order and invoice it with the changes (thus only charging for the items they want)

B) More professional looking - instead of telling them they need to redo the order or that I need to charge the full amount then refund them the difference [of the items removed].

C) Reduces the headaches for merchants dealing with sales/income tax - less calculations when it comes to charges and refunds

Alternatives without partial capture:

- Refunding: Charging the whole amount then refunding the changes to the order. This is not fair to the customer that simply made a mistake or changed their mind to have to wait up to 14 business days to get part of their order money back (they won't like that and may not return).

- Cancelling: Cancelling the order and telling them they need to reorder/redo it. This is also again not fair to the customer; although the better solution [I think vs refunding] but still definitely not better than simply being able to do a partial capture (and conversely just doing a simple QTY change on the items they requested before doing the charge).

In the end, if we could get the ability to do a partial capture on an invoice that would just make much more sense - be much more professional looking to the customer and be more streamlined/smoother for the customer and merchant involved. 

Just like to point out, competitors like PayPal and Stripe allow for partial capture. So hopefully this can be implemented with Square too.
