One Payment for Multiple Invoices

One Payment for Multiple Invoices

We have house accounts and also use invoices for various charges.  We have regular customers, and sometimes they pay in person and sometimes they pay online.  We need the ability to allow a customer to come physically in our store and pay multiple invoices and/or their house account balance at once.  Any insight on this?

I am a luthier running an instrument repair shop and quite often have a client bring in multiple instruments for restoration/repair work at a time and I create individual estimates with photo documentation etc. for each guitar and so when I convert those estimates to invoices, I then have to have the client pay 3-5 separate invoices at a time; which I feel is cumbersome and clunky. And if they don’t use the emailed invoice link to pay each invoice and they show up in person to pay, I never make them run their card that many times for each invoice, instead I make a new “blank” invoice for the total dollar amount of the other itemized invoices and charge their card the one time. I then have to archive those “unpaid invoices” so I don’t lose them from my books but also don’t have the system keep reading them as unpaid. It’s one of the clunkiest shortcomings I have found through this otherwise fairly fantastic platform so I’m hoping a remedy can be found in which the system is smart enough to see multiple invoice to the same recipient and so offer that recipient the option to pay all of them at once.

Hello @Camp4Fun I appreciate you submitting this request, and @Chisels_N_Picks for adding your input. I just want to clarify, you want customers to be able come into the store and swipe their card once to pay multiple invoices?

@MayaP, yes! This happens on a weekly basis. Our customers have a reoccurring invoice as well as an incidental invoice. Being able to pay both at the same time would be phenomenal! Or a customer portal for customers to see and pay any open invoices at one time would be amazing!

Please please enable this feature to pay multiple invoices at one time @MayaP.. I just sat on hold for 30 min with multiple agents and for right now my only choice is to cancel all invoices except one and update the one remaining to cover all the items in the oteher invoices....because my customer is trying to pay with Billgo which will only allow one transaction to equal the total amount.  This is very cumbersome.

Hello We have run into an issue with a client wanting to pay all his invoices at the same time.  Because square does not allow us to batch process these invoices, I had to run them one at a time and the clients bank stopped the payments because of fear of fraud (they were all the same dollar amount).  This was both frustrating for my client and challenging and embarrassing for me because I had to go in and change the due dates for each invoice manually.  I feel if you can select invoices "Mark as Paid" (for payments that are not a credit card payment)  I feel you can take payment via credit card (especially if the client had the card on file, if they are giving it to you over the phone or in person)  thank you in advance

We would very much appreciate some better way of taking in person payments on multiple invoices. We provide saddle cleaning services and some repair services which are tracked with line-item invoices. Some of our customers bring in multiple saddles and it is necessary for us to track services and parts for each particular saddle on a separate invoice. When those same customers come in to pick up their saddles and pay -- asking them to swipe their card multiple times for each invoice is clunky and unprofessional. That's my first request: the ability to swipe once for multiple invoices in person.  But I have a dream request as well: It gets even hairier when the same customer also wants to make an in-store purchase which we have to ALSO process separately for payment. It would be super convenient if invoice balances could be added to the register cart as a line item (designated by the invoice number). I understand that invoice payments are processed by Square at a different rate -- but we would be fine with paying the higher rate for the entire transaction if that transaction included an invoice payment. We offer our invoiced services in order to encourage walk-in purchases in our store... The difficult check-out process actually -discourages- that.  *Heads up: Square ultimately loses revenue here as well as we are likely to ask our invoice customers to pay by cash or check if they want to purchase in store and pay an invoice or two.

the above are all very good reason to plan this  thank you for your consideration.

Good day!

I would also like to request this feature be added to Square.

I get a ghost credit card number, for the payment of multiple invoices at once, and the ghost card only allows one 'swipe'.

I would like to be able to take a single payment, and apply that payment to multiple invoices.

Currently, I have to make a bulk invoice, pay it with the single swipe, then manually mark the corresponding invoices as 'paid', which double-counts revenue.

I have a vendor who also requests that they pay like this, I have to get specific permission and be on the phone while processing each of these payments to have them be considered Legitimate.  I didn't realize that it was called a a "ghost" credit card number.  Thank you the insight.  this is something that can be addressed other POS and online credit processing systems can do this very easily.  Thank you,
