Move Batching Time for Square

Move Batching Time for Square

The square batching time of 8PM EST really doesn’t work for almost all restaurants/bars out there and has cause a lot of them to leave since the only way to get a full day deposit for next business is currently to pay 1.5% to do same day. Almost all other platforms and processors out there are batching at 6:00am to cover all the us with a next day batch at their 12:00am batching. Can square engineering please look at moving this time to help fix this problem and gain more customers.

Hi there @bdaneu - Thank you for submitting your request to the Square for Restaurants Ideate Board 💡

You can currently customize your "close-of-day" time (the hour Square groups your payments daily for transfer) so that sales processed after your selected time are included in a single transfer to reflect your full day’s business activity.

To set a close of day time:

  1. Visit Transfer Settings > *Transfer** in your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Under Transfer Schedule, click a day of the week from the table.
  3. Select a Close of Day time. It’s recommended you set your close of day one hour after your actual closing time to provide a window for last-minute sales.
  4. Confirm your transfer speed.
  5. Click Save.

For example, if your business closes at 8:00 p.m. most days, you can select 9:00 p.m. as your close-of-day. All payments accepted before 9:00 p.m. will be included in a single transfer. The transfer will be initiated the following business day, and the funds will appear in your bank account on the second business day. If you accept payments after 9:00 p.m., they’ll be sent in the following transfer. Transfers arrive between one and two business days after your selected close-of-day time.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.
