How to change personal name not business name?

I need help with this too, but the only option I can find under "Personal Information" is to change my business name. I have a typo and would like to correct It without having to start over with my online shop, etc.

Unfortunately you aren’t able to edit the legal name you used to activate your Square account. If you'd like to fix a typo with your activation name, you'll need to create a new Square account.

Fortunately the activation name is not public facing in any way.

Hello, you can actually change the business name, what we cannot change js the account owners name. I am still livid over this. I enjoy using Square however I need a card for the business funds but I do not want the card going to another person who is not part of the business structure.

They really need to make is so that the person holding the EIN is the name of the owner.

@balancedhealing Square is not going to fix this issue. If you want to keep Square and update your name, the only option is to create a new account. I've been reaching out to them since 2016 and they say "working on it". BS. There's a post somewhere that explains why and it's something to do with how they wrote the original code. I know next to nothing about that stuff, but if you dig you should be able to find the post. Anyway, it's a moot point, Square doesn't seem to care. I do know they've been reported to the BBB for allowing their customers to operate under false and/or illegal names.

Hi @Cyndiilou72 and welcome to the Community.

I moved your post to an existing thread where this question has been answered already.

You are not able to update your personal name connected to your Square profile. You would need to create a new account with the new last name if that's what you needed to show on the Square Card.

  I am just now running into this problem where I need to change my name on the account so that my clients are not confused.  It is vital that businesses have cohesiveness throughout their platforms.
