How do I get my cash app on my phone to connect with my square account on my computer?

I've had cash app on my iphone for a few weeks and have used it to send money.  I just set up my square account today but don't know how to get the two pieces to connect with each other.  I ineed receipts for the people I have sent money.  Trying to call their support number has been its own nightmare so can anyone help me with connecting the two pieces?  Thank you

Hi @Sybil63 - Currently, Cash App and Square Point of Sale don't integrate with one another and operate as completely separate apps. Cash App is geared more towards sending & receiving personal payments while Point of Sale is for accepting card payments for your business. While there is a business account available for Cash App, it is not meant to be as robust as Point of Sale is and doesn't include a reporting feature. Do you mind providing more information on how Cash App plays a part in your business and why you would need both apps instead of moving your business entirely over to Point of Sale?

In terms of receipts for your Cash App payments, you can find your Activity history within the app and it will list all of the payments you have sent. If you would like to get in touch with the Cash team to take a look at your account for you, you can get in touch with them via email. We're unable to offer support for Cash App here as outlined within our policy.

Hi @Pimpt391,

This is the Seller Community for Point of Sale users.

We don't assist with Cash App here.

I have the same issue, my clients prefer to pay thru cashapp. Has anyone figure this out yet!

The answer should be a no brainer.  Customers want touchless options even when they are physically in the store.  It makes no sense to me why we can't get a QR that would link to our square business accounts for this purpose.  Not all cards have touchless at this time.

How do I add cash app payment opption to all my locations?

HI, I was able to find a Square discussion on your topic here.

Last night someone paid online with Cash App. First time seeing this and have no idea how this is processed. We didn't even know it was an option. Is it lumped in with credit cards? How do I enter it into quickbooks?   Thanks!

Hey there! Really good question, and happy to answer this for you. Pay with Cash App on Square Online is a new payment method available for some of our sellers.  We're in public beta for this, meaning we've rolled out the option for ya'll to use and are trying to get feedback on how it is working for you.

Just like any other payment method a payment is charged to the buyers Cash App account, and you see the payment the same way as any other credit card payment. You can view payments made by Cash App on your Square Dashboard under payment methods and also see sales on your transfer reports that go to your bank. It is in included in your deposit like any other payment.

As far as adding it to Quickbooks, it depends if you delineate different types of payments through your Quickbooks register. For instance if you mark each transaction as what kind of charge they were (Applepay for instance, do you recognize a digital payment from a credit card payment?) If so, you may want to consider making CashApp a payment method. So far most people have just seemed to mark this as a credit card charge in their account.

What is Cash App? Cash App is a mobile payments app provided by Square, and it's one of the top mobile apps used by over 36 million customers in the U.S. It allows customers to send money quickly and easily between friends as well as use it for personal banking and investments. All Cash App customers will now have the ability to pay your business for their purchases online.

Accepting Cash App payments is easy, safe, and fast, and is automatically enabled on your account. When your customer checks out online, they will now have the ability to use Cash App to pay. It only takes a few moments for your customers to link Cash App to pay.

If you have any feedback on this feature, we'd love to hear it in our private group for Pay with Cash App testers: Pay with Cash App group, just click to join and I'll get you added. 😃

Thanks! It looked like it was lumped with card payments so that's how I entered it in quickbooks.

A thought...maybe let sellers know when something is added? You may have and I missed it.

Close out as cash, card or what?
