How can I add my customer's billing address to a Square Invoice?

How can I add my customer's billing address to a Square Invoice?

The title of this thread was updated from its original title: “Customer's Info on Invoice”.

The invoices only show the person's name and email address on the invoice. Why does it not show the customer's company name, address, phone, etc.? How can I get those things to appear? Seems crazy that it isn't there nby default. Very unprofessional.

Hey @staceeandco & @RHatch

Square Invoices are designed to be shared electronically, enabling your customer to pay online.
I can definitely see where you're coming from and they you are used to seeing more information listed on the Invoice itself. I've flagged our Product Team so they will know you're looking for this feature.

I am new to Square and I am amazed that this has been an issue over the past year.  Has there been any update since Dec 2017.  I need to show my customer's address on the invoices.  If this is not a feature that is going to be available soon, I may need to look elsewhere for my payment processing needs

Hi @TCN - Have you tried putting your customer's address in the "Notes" section of the invoice? That may solve your problem!

It looks very unprofessional to add the address to the notes. The ideal would be to have all the customer information at the top.

Hey Square Team -- I'm frustrated that I can't add a customer company or physical address to my invoices. We work with school districts and we OFTEN get Purchase Orders without emails and we ALWAYS have to mail a copy of our invoice. It's arcane, I know, but it's the way our customers work. Square literally feels like a square peg in a round hole for me because I have to add the customer's company in the first name field and their contact name in the last name field, have to hand write the address on the invoice for our shipping department, etc. I understand it's designed for email invoices and for online stores -- for that part of our business it's excellent. But our need for customized invoices may force us to make a difficult switch. Just wanted you to hear my concern as you are thinking of product development.

Maybe this will push Square to evolve their invoicing! I actually use QuickBooks for invoicing/payment 70% of the time because it appears more professional due to the options and fields. This means that Square is losing 70% of my business and I assume that is the case for a lot of customers.  I send Square invoices to clients I aleady have a great relationship with and new clients I use QucikBooks.

Step it up, Square!

Thank you very much for your posts @CatherineUB @staceeandco and for sharing how your organizations use Square Invoices! As mentioned, Square Invoices are designed to be sent by email or paid online and I'm really sorry that this means they aren't suitable for every aspect of your business. Rest assured our Invoices does read these posts and considers each request to help them to prioritize which features to build.

In the meantime, you could take a look at the App Marketplace from your Square Dashboard for Invoice providers that integrate with Square. For example Zoho Invoices has  templates that include the payer's business name and address. I hope that helps!

If we have any updates to share about Invoices we'll post in this thread to let everyone know.
