Google Analytics for Square Appointments

It would be awesome if Square could open up more data around where our bookings are sourced / referred from (ie website, Facebook, Google Ads etc).

Right now we only see Instagram and Google referrals in individual bookings, but a report that shows all booking referrals would us know where our marketing is and isn't working.

Even just connectivity to Google Analytics would be great.

@Seamus - No, it does not. Those 'features' let us put our tracking ID on Square hosted pages. The problem is once the url changes the conversion data is lost so that's not going to work

I don't get why Square isn't giving it's customers what they are asking for. Instead, you devise some other 'feature' and are all proud and smiling saying "here's a new feature" but it's a feature that we never asked for?!

All these requests for conversion tracking are across all of your discussion boards with different titles but they are all asking for the same thing. Your management is ignoring us.

Just adding this in case more proof is needed for the project management team.

New ways to manage and optimize conversions

Conversion measurement is the foundation for campaign optimization and can help you understand the value of your marketing. It can also help you deliver better performance by providing tools like Smart Bidding with higher-quality signals. To make it even easier for you to manage your conversions and drive performance, we’re rolling out several new features.

Thanks for the additional insight @TorontoHeadshot!

There's no doubt that Google Analytics is a powerful and really useful tool for businesses. I think in this case it's more of a question of where that potential feature would sit as a priority alongside every other potential new feature our team could build and add to Appointments. While that's not information I have, or that we tend to share publicly, seller feedback does play a large role in determining what new features are prioritised, so thank you for adding your feedback!

If I hear of more news on GA features in Appointments I'll check back into this thread in the future.

This is the reason why I keep posting requests on something that was requested back in 2016. As a heads up, I am awaiting news from a developer of a WordPress Appointments plugin that supports conversion tracking. Once they have added a feature that is currently in development I'll probably be dumping Square.

Your project management, in my opinion, does not take customer suggestions. Or prioritize features.

I have provided the code to enable tracking on multiple posts on two different Square boards. The only thing the devs needed to do was add a field for us to provide a URL. That's it. But instead, management chooses to redesign the appointments mini-sites which none of the people that have asked for tracking use. I don't know anyone that actually uses the mini-site.

Love it. Truth.

Maybe its because they can. As soon as another booking provider (that doens't charge a monthly fee) offers tracking, THEN the competition will cause them to make a move.

Do we have conversion tracking available in Square yet?

Hi @ebizimana, thanks for reaching out here.

Unfortunately, I have no further news to share from the Product team regarding this feature request. Should this change in future, we'll be sure to tag everyone in this thread with an update.

Why has this not been prioritized? A lot of people have been asking for it for years now!

I can certainly appreciate your frustration here, @ebizimana.

We continue to pass on the feedback we receive directly to our Product team. While I don't have a timeline I'm able to share with you, nor am I able to comment on internal developmental priorities, adding a feature that enables you to track your conversions through Square Appointments is still on our radar.

You can read a bit more about the feature request life cycle here - while we don't have further news to share at this time if this changes in the future we'll be sure to update this thread.
