Hi,

 

We quickly built a Square/Weebly Online Store this week so that people could place contactless/curbside orders for our gelato shop. It's working great and I love that the tickets print out when it's time to make the order.

 

We are also implementing a local delivery service where people can preorder with us and we'll deliver it on Friday night. Right now we're doing it by email to take their item order and we respond back with a Square Invoice to capture payment. Has anyone successfully found a way to do local delivery with the Online Store platform?

 

It would be awesome if besides Pickup or Shipping, merchants could toggle on a Local Delivery button and the merchant could set a few options, such as "Delivery on Friday night, 4-7pm," "Delivery on Saturday afternoon, 12-6pm." Maybe with an option to assign a fee, but that's less important during this emergency response.

We are currently testing Batch Processing in our Beta Community, which may help you out. This is another update to allowing pre-orders on your online store.  We'd love for you to join in the test and provide feedback.

Hi. We make Square-powered mobile apps that have the time based features you need - and we are about to launch a new mobile app called Voice Menu for businesses who don't want their own app that also has the same time based features in it. 

 

Would either of those solutions work for you? Or are you trying to make this solely web-based?

A Calendar for you (the business) or the Customer? Or both?

I want to set up my square shop so that I can offer items to pre-order and have them picked up on a specific date, but don't like that with Pick up items it is giving them different dates for pick up.  Any ideas?  I hate telling customers to ignore the pick up date or calling or contacting them making sure that they know what the pick up date is. 

I would love it if in the pick up drop down we could choose a specific date so people can pre-order for a specific date.

Not an option to set a specific pick up date but this thread has a workaround included up top in the best answer.

I guess I need to throw my hat into this conversation. We are a take out location that offers holiday meal pre-orders. (Pre-order in March for an Easter meal in April). The items they're ordering are ONLY available that one day (Easter Ham, for example), so I need a way to specify that an item is not just available a specific day of the week, but a specific future DATE of the year.

I admit to not reading every post in this thread, but is there an option I'm missing to set a specific pick-up time for an order (we are doing pre-sales for pick-up on a specific date so the prep time option doesn't work)? I saw the workaround proposed by setting the item as a service instead of a physical item (or food/beverage which is what we are selling) but was hoping maybe something had changed in the interim that would allow for this without the workaround?

I offer Friday pickups only. I want to push all the orders placed after Wednesday 4 pm to the Next Friday. Say, all the customers who place orders after Wednesday 4 pm should only see the pickup dates starting from the Friday of the next week instead of the same week. Is this something that could be possible with Square?

I am looking for an online ordering system a customer can pre-order and pay on Monday and select a offered time to pick up order on Wednesday.  Would like to use for special occasions like Corned beef dinners for St. Patrick's Day and presell food orders.
