Feature Request: Allow my client to pay for multiple appointments in one transaction

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Appointments Application: How do I checkout and include multiple appointments on one ticket?

I recently did a soft launch of my business. I tried to close out my appointments and process them all under one ticket but quickly realized this was not possible. In my business model, I can go to a location with multiple contractors. Each contractor can have 1 to many services booked for the day. I need the ability to check out, add multiple appointments to one ticket, and charge that payment to one customer. - Example 1: Jane gets her cut by John, her makeup done by Carol, and her hair styled by Miguel. Jane is just one customer and should not have to process her card 3 different times. - Example 2: John gets his hair done by Max, his beard trimmed by Joe, and decides he wants to pay for Jane's bill in example one. In addition, there is a contractor attached to each service and they get a 70% commission and so this needs to be tracked accordingly for payroll. Currently, I do not see a way to do this. So I figured I'd post here to see what my options may be... This is a big problem for my business model. Thank you in advance for your help and guidance. JenVerg

Ah, so you're asking if it's possible to pay for two appointments in one card swipe.

 

This feature has been requested by others in this thread so I've moved your post here - thanks for letting us know how it would benefit your customers. I circled back and this is currently still a feature request. We'll update this thread if we hear any updates!

Hi @JenVerg, thanks for your post. At this time it's not possible to check out multiple Appointments at the same time, you will need to check out one appointment at a time. 

 

I understand that this isn't ideal for your business model but I'm glad you let us know how you'd like to use Square Appointments. I'll share this feedback with our Appointments team and it will help them to prioritize which features to build next!

I need to check multiple clients out on 1 ticket.  This is a very common practice in salons/barbershops. We also would like the ability to split tips to multiple service providers on one ticket.  for example paying client should be able to pay 20% gratuity across the board and have that broken down to each service provider on that ticket according to the service price.  This is a feature common on all other salon/spa software I have used over the years.  This is very time consuming at check out for our front desk. If this is not resolved ASAP, I will have to change over to another software that is better thought out for busy salons.

I like the new format allowing multi services with more than 1 operator on booking appointments this is great 

I would love to see 1 change on the checkout would love to be able to check out multi appointments  with one payment. For example 

a family of 5 books  a color  for 1 person, a cut for another person, a pedicure for 1, and so on .. but when they are all finished and ready to check out Mom or dad wants to pay for all of them they all have appointments times. But we have to check them all out separately so there card is charged multiple times so that the appointments show they are checked out the only work around is to put all the appointments on one person   To have 1 final bill then there is no no tracking of services done to each person .. 

 hopefully Square will think about this for all the Salon users you have this  will make appointment app and the stylist and our Customers happy all at once .. thanks but great job on the updates 

I would really like to see this feature as well. I have clients coming in for massages that are couples and they don’t understand why we have to check them out separately. This would be awesome to have! In addition we need to be able to have tip screens for each therapist too.

I completely agree that this needs to be a necessary feature. It’s ridiculous that the original post was from 2017 and it still has not been made possible to merge clients onto one ticket for a single payment. This is something that will make me rethink using Square now because I just ran into this issue today with clients. 

This is crazy that this has been a consistent issue for YEARS, and you still can't combine multiple appointments at checkout. We switched to the Square platform to save our stylists time, and it takes them more time to workaround what should be really basic functionality.

You are a popular site- I literally do not get it. Please do not tell me you move as fast as a government does. If square is that corporate- which you are, I understand why. Nonetheless, it is. astonishing this isn't a feature yet.

@Valentina @Helen @Seamus - Still VERY surprised that Square has not updated to add this feature, since it's been a request in the Salon/Beauty/Wellness industry for what looks like years now....

Just signed up for square.  SO DISAPPOINTED that we can't combine transactions into one payment.  As mentioned by others, parents come in with multiple kids or family members and it is so crazy that they all have to check out separately.  This is a HUGE inconvenience for us but really for our customers -- seems so unprofessional.  I hope this is addressed very soon.

Ok update.  January 2022.  We need to be able to split our tickets with multiple providers.  It looks like this has been an issue for a while.  My business has grown with square and I am going to be so sad if I have to leave it for these reasons.  Please update!  You are changing the packages now so please add value.  We need a waitlist, customizable notifications so our clients know what services they are confirming, & a way to check our our guests when multiple people do services for one person.
