Feature Request - Ability for Customer to upload images, files to Square Online

Hi there,

I am toying with the idea of building an online store. Bit of background, I own a small gift printing store. In order to take online sales i will need to allow customers to upload their photos when adding an item to the basket.

I can do this via woocommerce or opencart. However id like to keep all my invoices and orders tied in with square in one place.

So my question is, using squares website building platform, can a customer upload a image while adding an item to the cart as well as a text submission for names and dates etc...

Thanks,

Dan

This feature (file upload) is available using Square App Marketplace app called, "Form Builder" by POWR. The element in question is called

File Upload. The form can be integrated into square and incurs a monthly fee around $9.

Thank you for this tip @rclayman

You are so welcome.

Unless this can be used and associated with specific products through Square Online and details tracked through the online order management system, this is unfortunately not a solution. As an example, using either Form Builder or embedding custom HTML, you will need to place your form either above or below the entire Item Description section. What we need is something that can be easily seen and thrown in with the other modifiers.

I agree. I sell custom pieces but the customer has to email me the photo. It would be so nice to have this feature to upload a file.

Unbelievable that this feature hasn't been added yet. I've been trying to wait it out because I really don't want to recreate a new site but at this point, I think it is time to move on to a platform that provides such a feature. I've had customers turn away because it doesn't make sense to them. As store owners, we want to make the checkout process as seamless as possible. Having to leave the website and go to an email to send files is NOT user friendly.

I hear you. I have used other platforms and can say this about Square, "Very little down time, if any." I've worked with other platforms and have had issues with my site being down, not because of the main platform, but because of 3rd party apps crashing. However, if a business requires customized items produced from customer image uploads, Square fails miserably. They really need to get their programmers working on this asap. Perhaps the problem is the space required to save the images on a global basis. Don't know the answer. The only other solution is a 3rd party app, if they don't program it themselves.

Seamus,

Unfortunately, it appears you are losing many sellers because Square lacks this feature. You should pass THAT on to your eCommerce team and MORE importantly, pass it on to your programmers. At this time I don't need this feature, but apparently, there are many that do.

Since making good on my threat of ditching Square and moving to Shopify, I've had no issues with 3rd party plug-ins working and zero downtime from the new platform.

If an app stops working,, care factor zero, install a new one from a countless number of others that are available.

There is no excuse for the disdain that Square displays towards its customers.

Storage isn't an issue because the coding can be such that the attachments are emailed to you directly.

If they did care, they could implement a tiered option where they can sell you server space to store the images.

I ran a website many years ago and implemented this feature with a few lines of code that emailed me the photos/attachments.

Their focus is solely on take away food outlets and care little for anyone else.

How long do you wait for Square to listen to you?

Is everyone going to be like Square and show YOUR customers that you don't care (by defacto?).

I've not looked back since ditching Square.

Show them that their lack of care for their customers is losing them their customers by taking your business elsewhere. Why be held to ransom from a company that over the past couple of years can only respond to it's user's feature requests with "I don't have any updates as yet"?

Sure, other platforms may cost you a little more each month but are the tax deductable savings worth the heartache?

I would also like this feature is it something that can be done ?
