Employee Meals

Absolutely love the level of detail the Terminal gives on products sold. It's a dream. 

One thing I wish we could easily add is an easy way to say an employee can have a meal which is any one item from a predetermined category at a reduced or even no cost. I know there is an existing discount code but there is no way to limit the number of items it is applied against or set a maximum dollar value. Also there is no way to track it back to an individual.

Ideally the cashier sells processes the meal "sale" as a normal customer. They then select "Employee Meal" or similar as a payment type and turn the terminal over to the customer. The "customer" aka employee having a meal then enters a four digit employee number followed by a unique 4-8 digit pin. The pre-set item and/or dollar maximum is applied and any remaining balance can be paid as a normal sale. 

I had looked into maybe using Square gift cards as a work around but the 2.9% fee + $0.30 makes that a non-starter.

Surely I am not the only one with this sort of scenario.

So I just tried to test out what you are looking for, and it seems like at the moment it's a feature request. The closest way to achieve this would be using an employee discount. I'll make sure to pass your idea over to our product team, as I think it's a great idea that many of our sellers could benefit from.
