Display shipping options on checkout

I would like the ability to choose a site-wide policy that dictates whether shipping options are shown on the product page or checkout. All our products follow the same shipping policies, so having customers choose this on the product page doesn't really make sense, and confuses some customers. 

 

If two items in the cart don't support the same shipping option, then an error message could be displayed under that product saying "This product doesn't support local local pickup", for example. The customer would either need to change the shipping method or remove that particular item.

It sounds like you're offering multiple fulfilment methods, including pickup and shipping. If you've assigned both methods to your items, customers will see the option to select their preferred fulfilment method on the item page.

Currently, the option to select the shipping method is included in the checkout flow as the available options will vary depending on the address your customer enters.

Have I understood you correctly in that your customers are attempting to place orders for multiple items with separate fulfilment options, and are receiving an error message as a result?
