Customer file upload and attachments

We own a bakery, it would be really helpful if customers could submit pictures of their idea when purchasing online. Other online platforms have had this feature for years. Right now I use Jotform and process my sales with them because they have it available.

👋 Hi @TomD, @SlateCreek, and fellow posters in this discussion thread. I wanted to follow up here and acknowledge the frustration around this request. I sincerely apologize for the lack of responsiveness on our side, I understand how frustrating it must be to provide feedback and not hear back. 

I'm glad @maxpete reached out to me so I could go directly to the product folks involved and get an answer for you all. I spoke to the team and can confirm this feature is not currently planned. While this is not the answer you hoped for, I am glad that we were able to raise the idea to the right people and get a definitive answer for now. In the future if we have any news around this feature coming to life, you would find out about it by subscribing to our Product Updates Blog.

Not sure why this is not a feature yet but customers need to be able to fill out a form submission AND be able to upload a picture to send to us.

Having customers be able to submit photo files would be fantastic! It would make quoting custom cake and cookie orders so much easier.

Does square online have a "ask for quote" feature?

Is there an eta or update on the file submitting option?

I would also like for customers to be able to upload photos/files at check out.  Is there any progress on this request?

I've updated it to the "Reviewed" status. This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Reviewed" status and bring them to product teams.

To other sellers that see this feature, please leave a like and reply with a use case that your business would have. This will help to signal that this feature request is even more important to address.

In addition to the bakery use case, some others include:

- Apparel printers (logo uploads)

- Sign makers (design upload)

- Marketing material printers (ad upload)

I do custom engraved items and would love for customers to be able to upload their own images at the time of the transaction, rather than have to email them.

Hoping downloading a file/image is a possibility! Switched from

another platform to here and it’s really been putting a kink in the way I take submissions now! Been considering changing platforms again.
