Custom fields for Booking

Hello! I have a dog grooming salon and there are specific items I would like to collect during booking. I saw in a previous post about a work around, but I’d be kidding if I thought that was okay for a paid service. Is this something you all can do as this is a make or break for me. Thanks!

We've got some exciting news to share!


You can now use Custom Fields to collect custom information from customers when they book Appointments and Classes online! This feature is available with a Square Appointments Plus or Premium subscription.


You can set up, view, add, hide, and edit custom fields from your online Square Dashboard or Square Appointments App:


From the Square Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Customers.
  2. Click Settings > Configure Profiles.
  3. Click Create Custom Field.
  4. Name the field and select a field type.
  5. Click Save.


From the Square Appointments App

  1. Navigate to More > Settings > Customers.
  2. Click Add Field.
  3. Name the field and select a field type.
  4. Click Save.


Once you’ve created the custom fields you want to collect, you can add those fields to your online booking flow.


From the Square Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Appointments > Online Booking > Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Customer profile fields.
  3. Click Add Custom Field under When customers book an appointment or class.
  4. Select your newly created field.
  5. Click Save.


From the Square Appointments App

  1. Navigate to More > Online Booking.
  2. Scroll down to Customer profile fields.
  3. Click Add Custom Field under When customers book an appointment or class.
  4. Select your newly created field.
  5. Click Save.

No custom fields how can someone schedule me to come to their house? I need to be able to collect their address and also have multiple choice questions answered about what issue they are having.

 

Same as if I was ordering a burger and then wanted to add a drink, but instead it's a service request, not a product.

We usually schedule appointments by messaging. It's just what we started with and haven't had any good reasons to change.

RE: Square Appointments Scheduler. We also need to know specific information before we accept and appointment. We need to be able to add custom question fields that must be answered before the customer can request an appointment. Please help!

We ended up switching to Groomore as it doesn’t appear this is a priority to square. This has been a request for over 3 years.

Hello All, 

I am a mobile service starting with Square Appointments. I need answers to 10 custom questions  when customers schedule/book the appointment.  What is the best/automatic way I can gather this information? 

 

Is there a way to automatically gather this information when the customer books through custom fields in Square?

 

I noted Square integrates with several forms apps. Is there a way to automatically send questionnaires to customers upon booking?

It's my understanding that you'd need to create a Contract Template, then .. from Appointments -> Settings -> Communications -> Add a digital contract. In the final stage, you can set up the filters for who gets it based on the service booked and/or whether they've filled the contract out before.

The contract template allows the booking client to manually/type in  answers to 10 questions upon booking? 

Looks like yes it does, if you are enrolled in Square Invoices Plus ($20/mo). Surely there is a free integration with a forms app, as you mentioned. I'm not sure, though. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
