Can you send the same invoice to multiple customers?

I tried to send the same invoice to nine customers, but I find the option less intuitive than PayPal's methods. It appears that one invoice was generated, and one customer was billed, and the remaining 8 were cc'ed. When you choose this option with PayPal, each customer email address receives its own bill with its own invoice number. Am I missing something? Thanks.

We don't have a good way to currently do this for you as the invoice system is not directly linked with Big Commerce.

I've moved your post into this thread where Tom explains how to copy an invoice so you could create and save these individual invoices as new orders come in. You could also schedule them to go out on an expected date if you know when you'll be fulfilling orders, or saving them as a draft until you do know.

Not a perfect solution, but a workaround none-the-less.

I also have a need to send the same invoice to multiple customers, in this case, its's an artist fee for an art show.  The invoice for the entry fee would need to go to a database of 400+ artists.  I prefer to use Square as that is what we use to take payment when we sell art pieces during the show.  I do not want to learn another system and am dismayed that Square doesn't have a platform for batching invoices.

Just checking in on this thread. Has Square yet made it so that batch identical invoices can go out, or do we still need to us the Duplicate Invoice method.

Hey there! Thanks for asking. Your workaround is still the best option as we are still tracking the feature request to create and sent multiple, identical invoices to separate customers. 🙂

Same request for batch invoicing here too. I run a nonprofit with annual membership dues and having to manually clone an invoice for each member rather than be able to import an email list literally takes hours. A batch-processing option would take a couple of minutes!

This lack of user friendliness may drive us to switch back to PayPal. If enough people do this it amounts to significant money lost for Square...seems like the functionality update would be worth your time and bottom line!

I hear you, @GermanAmericans and I understand how sending invoices in bulk alleviates the work load and time spent sending them out individually.  For now, I'm adding your post as a tally mark  for tracking. Have you seen @Tom's best answer for a workaround?

Here's another vote for batch invoicing! I run a farmers market and need to send large numbers of the same invoice to collect fees from vendors, and in turn give them receipts for their bookkeeping.  Square gives us lists of customers, which we can  put into groups.  I'd like to select this group and then have the option to send them all an invoice.  We all use Square and it would be so easy month after month.

The "workaround" suggested several times in this thread isn't much of a workaround...it still takes nearly as long as setting up a brand-new invoice.  I too run a nonprofit and need to batch-invoice membership renewals.  I hear PayPal allows this...why not Square?  Can't be that hard to set up on Square's side of the operation, and would make a lot of current customers happy (and loyal).

Hello there @SWCHR. Appreciate the input! I went to see if there's been any new development for this feature request, but unfortunately I don't have any new news to share.

We'll keep tracking this feedback for our Product teams and will absolutely let you know if there are any changes that come about.

It's been nearly a year since my last inquiry into the batch-invoicing possibility.  How many more such inquiries from other interested organizations will it take to move forward?   I like Square, but my loyalty will lie with a company who can meet my needs.
