All Square and no Acuity

All Square and no Acuity

I have both Square POS for sales and Acuity for scheduling. I know these two work together, but it would be GREAT if I could move everything to one software. I've asked before and was told just to keep my acuity scheduling because it syncs with Square and that is what I'm doing. Just trying to make things easier for future managers.

Hello there @TCS37122 ,

Thank you for reaching out to our Ideate Board. Square Acuity is a scheduling system correct? Square does offer Square Appointments which is our flexible scheduling system. Have you had the opportunity to check that out? Is there anything that Acuity is doing differently from our system?

I agree Square Appointments needs to be more like Acuity with the same booking option plus an add-on waitlist, the processing time, and selling products with appointments. Square is far behind

We do all our booking via square appointments - very easy to manage.

I'm considering switching from Acuity to Square because square now has an option for monthly recurring, but I see so many people who have acuity and charge with square having so many issues.  Is there a seamless way to switch over, or will it be as daunting as it feels to have to manually move all my appointments and appointment types as well as recurring charges over ?

It's a lot easier to do everything on one system and we use square for everything from running the website to online booking to payroll to POS. We run a hair salon with ~8 bookable staff members each with their own schedule and services. Square appointments allows clients to book online through the website (run by square) and we check clients out with square adding any additional products they might by to the check.

Thank you. That's what I was wondering. If it was easier to just keep everything in one place. It's just daunting moving all my things over. I haven't gotten anyone to reply at square, is there an easy way to move to square fully ?

Hi @unwindrva!

The initial setup of your account (login, business information, sales tax, etc.) is pretty easy and straight forward. Depending on how large your business is, I might recommend cutting over to Square in steps. Make a list of the services you'd like to start using with Square and chip away one by one. It might be overwhelming to do everything allllllll at once...Rome wasn't built overnight! It'll be work (maybe even frustrating at times) to migrate, but once everything is over, like @cadresalon said, it's sooooooo nice having one login and management system for nearly your entire business.

I'd start with Appointments with a few of my favorite clients that wouldn't mind being a guinea pig. Let them know you're testing new software and maybe offer a small gift card or discount as a "thank you" for working through any bugs/trial and error as you get used to it.

Good luck and if you need help or get stuck, the community is here!
